I believe people carry the answers they seek inside them. Therapy provides a safe place to feel heard, to better listen to yourself, to find your truth and your voice. It can also be a place to practice expressing yourself in new ways; using the therapy relationship to break destructive or unhelpful communication patterns.

I have over 35 years experience providing competent, compassionate, respectful psychotherapy. Using a whole-person, culturally sensitive approach, I help people look at their strengths and areas for growth. My psychotherapy schedule is full. If you’re in the Mpls-St Paul area, check out my 3 psycho-educational workshops series. Watering the Heart Root explores the intersections of music, mindfulness, & personal growth. The music & workshops blend together the wisdom gained from my years of psychotherapy practice, and lifelong personal healing journey, to create a powerful set of tools for emotional and spiritual well-being.

My clients are successful, functioning, and used to holding things together on their own. They are looking for a place where they can breathe and have permission to not be figured out. My clients want to dig deep into the “whys” underneath their thoughts or behaviors. We’ll work to give you tools to address the exacerbation of your symptoms, but will also explore the “root system” underneath your concerns to understand how we got to where you are. I love creating space for folks to make new connections, to let go of past now-unhelpful narratives, and move forward with greater knowledge, trust, and reliance on themselves.

A strong therapeutic relationship can support your goals to improve relationships, learn to be regulated and live a more fulfilled life. I do this by encouraging open communication and healthy boundaries, providing psychoeducational support, processing emotional issues and trauma and teaching the art and science of mindfulness. I provide psychotherapy to teens and adults who may be experiencing behavioral and emotional issues, depression, anxiety, trauma and relational issues. I will bring intensity and humor to the dynamic, therapeutic relationship. Relationships are important for thriving in this life!

Sometimes we don't realize what is in our way but somehow we are stuck. Or we seek more self awareness, inner strength, and peace. We work with individuals who are needing guidance to get unstuck, heal and grow. Many people have trauma in their past and sometimes in their present life. We offer a space to heal within that pain with various modalities and techniques.

It's nice to finally meet you! If you're here, you're probably looking to make a change. I can help you remove the barriers in your life by building a strong sense of self, finding direction, and connecting with what's most important to you. With curiosity and humor, I create a safe space for you to explore these issues and find solutions. I am not a behaviorist. I will support you in making the changes you want to make, but I do not use worksheets or assign homework.

Therapy is a space for liberation. As a white, queer, pre-licensed therapist, my goal is to bring a dynamic, anti-oppressive lens that places you as the expert in your own experience. I hold space to deeply explore the connection and impact of systems, relationships and self in a safe, shame free environment. I work with teens and adults and have a special interest in focusing on topics such as: anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, identity and gender exploration, navigating relationship dynamics, self-worth, and sex therapy.

Hi! My name is Ty, and I can’t wait to work with you! If things have been just a little stressful, or you have gone through really difficult stuff–you have come to the right place, I’ve got your back, and we can work through hard things. If you are wanting someone who is going to listen non-judgmentally, who can understand and who can support whatever it is that you are dealing with, I would love to sit down and talk with you. If you are looking for a provider who can understand what it is like to go through the world as a part of the queer community and dealing with LGBTQ+ cultural issues and discrimination–yep, that’s me, too!

As your therapist, I am interested in accompanying you on the exploration of your inner world. I believe self-acceptance & self-compassion are key to our liberation, and there are few places you can go that I can't follow. Our work together will include 1. Getting to know the different parts of you, including those parts that most of us tend to reject and/or repress 2. Examining and deconstructing cultural messages you may have received growing up around sexuality, gender, vulnerability, & intimacy 3. Working to reveal the underbelly of shame by allowing it to transform into your greatest strength.

Life can be overwhelming and sometimes challenging to handle on our own. Often healing is needed to help us navigate the things beyond our control. In therapy, I hope to create a sense of belonging. I believe every life has intrinsic worth and deserves a sense of belonging. Creating a place where this is felt and believed, where one is seen and heard, is a place where healing can begin. I utilize a relational approach in therapy, as I believe an authentic therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is key. I strive to provide a warm space in which clients feel safe, valued, and heard.

We all find ways to minimize painful experiences, numb difficult emotions and avoid traumatic memories. Maybe it shows up as people-pleasing out of fear of conflict, even if it means abandoning your own needs. It could be a complicated and volatile relationship with food and your body. Or intentionally staying busy to ensure you have very little time to sit with your spiraling thoughts. We do what works...and we may discover these methods of coping are self-destructive, aren't in alignment with our values, cause relationship problems and may not fit within the vision we have for our lives.

Hi! I'm so glad you found my page. I'm a licensed therapist that specializes in trauma, addiction, and ketamine assisted psychotherapy. Clients work with me to engage in deeper, somatic psychotherapy to free themselves from complex traumas, addictions, burdens, and problems that they've not been able to resolve on their own. Those struggling with PTSD, addictions, identity issues, depression, anxiety, or those who have done lots of therapy without achieving the results they want may benefit from the trauma healing intensives that I do. This setting allows us to get to the core of your issues without the limits of a one hour session.
