I use a semi-directive and integrative approach rooted in evidence-based modalities that assist clients in embodying their experience.
It is no easy task to lift the shadow of depression, to rebuild your life after a traumatic experience, or to make healthy decisions when chronically stressed, emotionally dysregulated, or when experiencing a relationship/identity crisis. My compassionate, engaging approach and incisive reflection creates a nourishing space for individuals to endeavor on their healing journeys.

I take an integrative approach to therapy drawing on Polyvagal Theory, the Gottman Method (for relationships), Brainspotting, Bowenian theory, IFS, and somatic work.
I'm taking new clients! My passions are relationships and how we process trauma. I love to explore how systemic and societal power structures influence how we connect with our partners, family members, and friends. I work with couples, families, and individuals in areas such as polyamory, boundaries, queerness, anxiety/depression, sex and sexuality, trauma, stress, life transitions, chronic illness, and anything else that affects our ability to be authentically and safely ourselves. I'm now also trained in brainspotting for individuals looking to process trauma.

I use an integrative approach that reflects on your life experience, family systems, and patterns that have been learned to build a foundation to offer hope and change.
There are moments when life can feel nonstop and overwhelming. Whether it’s relationships, work, parenting, life transitions – it can all feel too demanding. Finding someone who can walk alongside you in those moments when you need it, matters. I want to be a support in your life that looks at those moments of overwhelm and give you the tools of how to find a different approach in them. To provide a space that allows you to show up and not be judged for what you are bringing, but for you to be met with empathy and compassion. To feel a sense of hope that you hold the gifts within you to take that next step forward.

I’m Eric Murtha, an integrative psychotherapist, licensed to practice in Minnesota. During my years in practice, I have developed an understanding and appreciation of the uniqueness of each individual and family that I have helped. I believe that we all develop patterns regarding how we think, deal with emotions, and relate to the people in our lives. Often these patterns have served us in the past. However, during times of stress, loss, or traumatic experience, these patterns may be unhelpful, and we can feel stuck. This is when therapy can make a big difference in feeling better and help us live more effectively.

I utilize an integrative approach through DBT, CBT, ACT, and overall providing support and encouragement as you need to live a life of fulfillment.
Brynnie (Brin-ee) is a pre-licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with her Master's degree from the University of St. Thomas. She has experience working with addiction, depression, and anxiety. Brynnie's goal is to create a safe environment for clients to take up space to explore their thoughts, emotions, insights, and goals. She understands it can be a complicated process to adjust to the difficulties life throws at us; and when we are forced to undergo a situation in which we are required to demonstrate strength, those times can change how we view the world and keep us from feeling like the person we want to be.

As a therapist, I approach our work together with empathy, compassion, and a deep understanding of the human experience. I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth, healing and transformation. My person-centered, collaborative, and integrative approach creates a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your challenges and desires. I incorporate somatic work and mindfulness to help you tap into your inner wisdom, release emotional blockages, and cultivate a deeper connection with your body and mind. I’ve walked my path of struggles and self-discovery, and I know the pain of feeling alone in your suffering.

I will take the time to learn about the whole person and picture to create an integrative therapy plan that works for you and your pace.
I believe everyone has a story or many stories that they believe about themselves. Some of these stories may or may not serve people in their lives -but all have a powerful effect on how we walk in the world. Using integrative, cognitive-behavioral, and narrative therapy, I help clients redefine their beliefs about themselves, or how other people or situations affect their lives. I guide clients to recreate the stories that can help them initiate change, and reinforce the stories that already give them strength and clarity.

I believe in a holistic & integrative therapy approach that explores what feels alive in the mind, body, soul, and community.
Hi, I am happy you are here. More and more people are experiencing a felt sense of disconnection due to chronic stress. I work with individuals impacted by trauma, injustice, grief, loss, and neglect, all leading to emotional, mental, and physical overwhelm. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, dysregulation, burn out, numbing, people-pleasing, perfectionism, overthinking, hyper-independence, procrastination, and negative self-concepts. I believe you have the internal resources for your own healing. Together, we will engage in rest, resourcing, and restoring.

Integrative Therapists

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
