Some of the specific modalities I use are: EMDR, CBT, AIR Network, clinical hypnosis, energy psychology, Brainspottting & Narrative therapy.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) serving the Twin Cities area, passionate about helping and supporting people. I believe that as humans we are always evolving from the experiences that life offers, which has steered me to believe in the interconnectedness of all life, and therefore my practice operates from a framework honoring the unity of the mind, body and spirit. I believe that each person is unique and that there is no one approach to the problems they present.

Our specialties include addiction and compulsive behaviors (substance use and food), aging challenges, EMDR, grief and loss, relationship issues, trauma, chronic illness, mood/anxiety disorders, and perinatal mental health.
At Be. Counseling Partners we will support you throughout your therapy process. We will help you to identify your needs for support and your goals for change. Sometimes the desired change is internal; we want to think or feel differently about things, including ourselves. Sometimes the change we seek is about behavior; we want to react in different ways in relationships and situations in our lives. Sometimes the change is about acceptance; we seek acceptance of who we are or things we cannot control. It would be our privilege to accompany you in your change process.

With 29 years of experience I've developed a very effective approach anchored in Adlerian theory coupled with EMDR and Brainspotting.
Fear is the emotion underlying most problems in our lives. We are often the biggest hurdle to reaching our potential. Whether it's fear of success, or performance, stage fright, or fear of becoming more engaged in life and with others, it all connects back to our own beliefs limiting our potential. What we believe about ourselves dictates how successful we are or aren't. Wanting it to be different usually isn't enough. Liberating ourselves from our self-created shackles is the answer, and changing neurocognitive pathways is the key. Life can be very different once this happens.

I use a range of tools, including EMDR, mindfulness, and family of origin work to resolve underlying struggles and transform destructive beliefs into more peaceful living.
I work with people who want better relationships with others and better relationships with themselves. Couples, families, and individuals I see are bright, curious, motivated people who find their lives disrupted somehow - by the intrusion of traumatic experiences, life transitions, or persistent struggles with mental health that don't resolve on their own. I have a deep understanding of the unique therapy needs of therapists and doctors and their partners and families, and I enjoy working with folks anywhere on the gender and sexuality spectra. I also work with torture and war trauma survivors, refugees, and asylum seekers.

Additionally, I am EMDR trained.
Do you ever find yourself irritated at little things, or the people close to you? Do you find yourself constantly worried, or discouraged by everyday life? Therapy can be a scary thing to consider, but my goal is to help you be the best version of yourself with a little support and encouragement! I use cognitive behavioral strategies mixed with brain & body education so my patients have a better understanding of how and why they may react to things in life that seem automatic and how they can take charge and re-direct these unhelpful reactions to feel more successful in life.

I use an integrated client-centered approach and I have additional specialized training in EMDR, hypnosis, prolonged exposure, and coherence therapy.
Individuals are often given advice by those who have not taken the time or had the ability to understand the issue. My goal in therapy is to understand the concerns and challenges from your perspective. Only after a relationship based on trust, empathy, understanding, and at times even humor has been built, can I help you achieve your goals. Everyone deserves individually tailored treatment. If this approach seems to be a fit, please schedule an appointment. If for some reason it seems that I can't help you, I will do my best to help you find someone who can.

I am experienced in many therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, DBT, ACT, and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy.
You feel shut down, trapped by negative feelings and memories. Unhappiness and worry are familiar companions. Negative emotions and thoughts interrupt the ability to be your full self. Unsatisfying relationships with friends and family sap your energy. You’d like to change the patterns in your life that don't seem to be working, but can’t find a way to do so. You want a therapist who accepts, understands and validates you, while offering real skills and strategies for dealing with your distress.

I tailor interventions for each client, drawing on somatic practices, parts work (IFS), and experiential techniques like EMDR and Brainspotting.
I’m passionate about working with folks who want to process past trauma and relearn how to feel safe in the present. These experiences often lead to secondary challenges such as depression, anxiety, and relational concerns. I work with clients who are eager to reconnect to their authentic selves & feel ready to dive into this process with dedication and courage.

I am trained a few different modalities including EMDR, CBT, and Anchored Relational Therapy (formerly called AIR Network).
My work has been primarily centered around concerns relating to complex trauma, substance use, anxiety, ADHD, and identity concerns. In particular, I have a strong passion for working within the LGBTQIA+ community. As part of my practice, I recognize that our overall health can be impacted by our lived experiences with the broken systems around us, and at times, symptoms can be a direct result from living within these systems. My focus is to help clients gain insight around the impacts that past experiences may have had, address past trauma, recognize one's own strengths, and learn how to navigate through the challenges of life.
