I am also trained in Brainspotting (Phase 1) and use this modality to address deeply rooted assumptions and trauma.
I have experience working with individuals and couples identifying as LGBTQ+ as well as heterosexual, cisgender in the areas of ADHD, anxiety, identity, trauma, parenting, phase of life changes, ENM, communication, and conflict management; among others. As an ADHD brain myself, I have a special interest in working with individuals or couples to address the personal and/or relational challenges of ADHD; we will deconstruct shame and self-worth stemming from ADHD, address communication difficulties, and increase overall understanding of how ADHD impacts all aspects of our lives.

I am trained in Brainspotting.
Are you an older teen or adult ages 17-65 years old? And have you been experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, gender identity exploration/issues, body image issues, or other issues and wish you could work collaboratively with someone who is compassionate and supportive to help you achieve your goals? Change and relief are possible and you don't have to do it alone.

Through deep inner exploration and liberatory, integrative practices, including IFS and Brainspotting, we will unpack what you’ve been taught and replace it with what you know.
You can think your way through anything, but it’s not enough to deal with the trauma you’re carrying. At this point, it might not even seem possible to heal. And with the dizzying pile of stressors the world is throwing at you (interpersonal and systemic oppression, rising facism, the climate crisis), you sometimes wonder, why even bother? But you also want to be more engaged in your own life, to have more ease and joy. And to answer that incessant question in the back of your mind, “who am I, really?” You want—need—more clarity, connection, and confidence (and for that inner critic to chill out already).

I also offer Brainspotting and a more "bottom up" approach when talk therapy isn't quite enough.
Overall, I would say that I am just a human who enjoys helping other humans no matter who they are or what problems they are navigating in life. Some of the most prevalent diagnoses I have worked with include depression, anxiety, & PTSD though I do have some experience with bipolar disorder & schizophrenia spectrum disorders. I am passionate about working with individuals who are part of the LGBTQIA2+ community or are questioning any part of their identity. I also have a passion for supporting individuals have experienced religious or spiritual trauma & helping them unpack and overcome the unique challenges it can cause.

That could look like Brainspotting for stuck somatic experiences and memories, Trauma-Focused CBT or Narrative Exposure, or the framework of IFS to shrink shame and grow compassion for yourself and understanding for others.
Welcome! My name is Lisa Gray. I love my work and I'm biased towards the idea of therapy for everyone all the time, but let's begin by talking about how things end: We'll know our work is done when you feel confident that you can navigate your emotional seasons with the insight and strategies we develop together. You should feel increased peace and satisfaction in your relationship with yourself and the people around you, your energy for daily life, and preparedness to weather future storms.

I use a multitude of techniques that integrate your personal spirituality, CBT, narrative exposure therapy, brainspotting as well as holistic approaches to heal your mind, body and spirit.
I work with my clients at their own pace. I am here to help guide you and walk beside you on your journey to mental wellness. Our life experiences can leave us feeling broken, rejected, lonely, and searching for answers. But, through this brokenness we can begin to discover who we want to be, bringing us the emotional healing we desire. Through self-exploration we can begin to understand how these events impact how we treat ourselves, interact with others and create meaning in our lives. Chantelle believes that change occurs when we begin to truly accept ourselves as we are. Non-judgement, radical self-love and forgiveness are key.

I have the privilege and honor of working with individuals and couples with trauma history using Brainspotting, Narrative Exposure Therapy, and other trauma-focused modalities. I primarily work with adolescents, young adults, couples, and families; however, everyone is welcome in my space. I also work with clients who do not need trauma work and use an experiential approach to therapy. This means I show up authentically, use humor, and think systemically, not just focusing on the individual. Also, this space is not sterile or Eurocentric, so it might feel slightly different from other therapeutic spaces.

I work with couples, families, and individuals in areas such as polyamory, boundaries, queerness, anxiety/depression, sex and sexuality, trauma, stress, life transitions, chronic illness, and anything else that affects our ability to be authentically and safely ourselves. I'm now also trained in brainspotting for individuals looking to process trauma.

I utilize Brainspotting to facilitate emotional emotional release and healing of unprocessed emotions.
Hello there! My name is Katie. The clients I enjoy working with are typically coping with the effects of trauma and are wanting to re-process that trauma in order to feel more connected and present. They are people struggling with generalized anxiety, Grief, PTSD, and depression. They may be struggling in their relationships, experiencing life transitions or trying to figure out who they are. I love working with folks who have the desire to explore their struggles in order to process it and grow. I believe that each individual possesses inherent strengths and that my role is to provide an environment where clients can tap into it.

I also do brainspotting.
I believe that everyone is the expert on themselves, but at times this expertise can be difficult to harness due to the curveballs life often throws our way. My approach is empathetic, flexible, non-judgmental with a dash of humor, and some occasional colorful language. I can also be very direct when needed. Utilizing both trauma-informed and attachment-based perspectives, I will collaborate with you on discovering that expertise. I am passionate about diversity and inclusion which allows me to honor the unique needs of everyone who grants me the privilege of joining them on their journey.

I have Gottman Level 1 Certification for couples work along with Brainspotting training.
I am only accepting relational clients. I believe it is so important to be curious, compassionate, and present. When you find yourself looking for assistance, you know what that better future would look like, and in collaboration we can work on exploring how to get there. You are the expert of your life, and my duty is to provide a safe space to explore. Sometimes it can be harder to explore and be present in an oppressive social system like the one we are surrounded in, especially for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. I have experience working with non-monogamy, relational conflict, communication improvement, and family systems.

Some of these approaches include EMDR, brainspotting, psychedelic therapy, yoga, and drawing/painting.
As someone who has recovered from PTSD myself, I know that healing is possible. I believe that changing our thinking about what triggers mean is really helpful. Often, we avoid triggers, but my philosophy and way of being act in the opposite manner: I see triggers as messengers and an invitation to delve deeper into our unconscious. Our symptoms are a form of communication; they are intelligent and exist for a reason. By following them, we can find a path to the root cause of our suffering.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
