I like to do relational work with partners and individuals--trying to navigate how to be in relationship with others can be really stressful and feel impossible. Common issues I work with are boundaries, communication, infidelity, maternal mental health, new parenting dynamics, self-esteem, family-of-origin issues, deconstructing and reconstructing faith, tools for a better relationship, and small "t" and big "T" traumas.

Melding my experience in small business, non-profit organizations, and coaching, I am at home with a broad range of individuals of varied backgrounds. I am passionate about relationships and development, and have been told I have a knack for pressing gently but firmly into the rough spaces around seasons of change. I find great joy in helping people lean into the transitional moments of life and find meaning in the ‘stuck' places so they can grow, learn and heal. I tend to bring practical tools to sessions to help my clients build the skills they need to get healed and get on with life and relationships.

Hello! I am so glad you stopped by. Trauma, past relationships, life stressors and more have a way of eating away at our joy and contentment, but are also incredibly difficult to overcome alone. Sometimes we need the little extra support of someone to come alongside us and offer kindness and empathy. I would be honored to walk along this journey with you.

I believe that peace on earth starts with peace in the home. I'm able to help adults, couples, and families find this peace by using healthy communication techniques, recognize their emotions and heal from past pain. This helps clients foster deeper connections in their relationships and within themselves. I work with couples needing support with communication, conflict resolution and gaining trust. I help parents establish loving limits with their children to help them learn while also maintaining connection. I can help clients cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, and postpartum.

Do you ever feel like everyone around you has it all figured out while you’re just trying to keep your head above water? Are your thoughts often filled with relentless worry, sometimes even convincing you of things that aren’t true? Maybe it seems like no matter how much you try to forget about ‘it,’ it keeps resurfacing, disrupting your life – making it difficult to trust, feel, focus, dream, or enjoy life. You long for a day where you are free from all of this and want a therapist who truly understands and can help you heal from deep within. I might be that therapist...

I prefer to use my cognitive behavior therapy and attachment-based techniques in therapy most of the time.
Hello, I'm Rebecca Zabinski, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Minnesota. I am originally from New Mexico and met my husband in the United States Air Force. I am a woman veteran and have grown to love Minnesota and everything it has to offer. My approach to therapy is meeting people where they are at and coming up with some goals together so that there is a common focus between us. I have 3 boys and love animals. If I am not working, I am doing something outside with my kids, in the garden or with my dogs.

We often find ourselves feeling lost or not connected to who we strive to be. We feel voiceless and dismissed as though no one cares to listen to our pain. I want to build a safe and consistent relationship with you to find a renewed sense of self. In this space, I want to empower you to embrace your authentic self in the full circle of creation, nurturing, connecting and transforming. As we weave in the principles of mindful living together, I want to help you find the answers that have been inside of you all along as you begin to trust yourself and let go of whatever is holding you back.

My practice is centered around supporting individuals and couples at those tricky life stage transitions. Together, we work towards developing a new rhythm of being, while integrating both their past and present identities as a person, partner, and parent. My approach to therapy is collaborative - where healing occurs within relational contexts. As I walk along side you, I attempt to remain rooted within a trauma informed, systems and attachment-based perspective.

I take a proactive approach with my clients and work from an attachment-based and cognitive behavioral framework.
I am Currently only accepting clients for Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is the use of prescribed doses of ketamine, the drug, as an adjunct to psychotherapy sessions. KAP shows significant potential in treating mental disorders such as treatment-resistant depression (TRD), post-traumatic stress disorder, and other anxiety disorders.

I utilize an attachment-based lens with both individual and couple clients.
You are constantly putting others first, you feel alone & like you're never good enough. It's hard for you to figure out what your own feelings and needs are & asking for help or setting boundaries feels nearly impossible. Early adulthood is full of life transitions, uncertainty, new experiences, big decisions, and figuring out who we are. It's overwhelming! I have a niche for working with individuals in this stage of life, especially those also dealing with things like anxiety, depression, or complex family systems on top of it all. I work with couples too, understanding relationships impact mental health and vice versa.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
