Where do you you heal? Is it always talk? I have worked with children/families/ individuals most of my career and have had to think of different ways to process feelings. For young children it's play, for older children doing art or games. For adults it may be changing one’s perspective. Brain science confirms that these methods are effective for emotional regulation. The most successful factor in therapy is the therapeutic relationship. I honor that. I partner with you on this journey. Some clients bring two session issues, others bring trauma that may need neuropsychological approaches.

I particularly enjoy working with clients who are working on increasing their self-esteem, improving emotional processing, and individuals wanting to enhance overall wellness. By learning new ways of understanding themselves, and by seeking new coping strategies for dealing with stress, clients can gain greater confidence being their authentic self, both in therapy sessions and out in the world. My goal is to support clients through their journey towards self-understanding, self-compassion, and confidence.

Healing can take many forms in our lives and therapy is one of those places that can facilitate that process. Finding a therapist, you can trust to process some of the difficult moments in your life is foundational. As your counseling partner, I will create a safe place for you as you navigate the challenges you are facing and help you figure out what you want and need moving forward. I believe in healing and the resiliency of the human heart and soul. Out of our difficulties, something beautiful can emerge. Come as you are and we can go from there.

People who see me for individual therapy are usually facing turmoil either due to current stressors or past issues that keep surfacing and prevent them from moving forward in their lives. Often, people tell me that they feel "stuck" and need direction/guidance. By working with me they identify their inner strengths and capabilities; they feel confident in themselves to take on challenges that come their way. In therapy we identify things that should change because what clients are doing currently is not helping. I problem solve and discuss ways to make their present meaningful. My strength based approach resonates with clients.
