I help women heal from past traumas, develop unshakable self-confidence, and say goodbye to the anxiety and stress that are holding them back. Your past doesn't define you...it's time to HEAL from old wounds and move forward into your beautiful future. During our initial session we will take a look at the issues you'd like to work on and will come up with a good plan to address those issues and provide you some relief. Most clients see an improvement in their symptoms within the first few sessions.

Identifying myself as an empath, a highly feeling and sensitive being, I best support other women feeling the pressures and demands of society's unrealistic expectations to do and be everything to everyone but ourselves.
Therapy for the woman looking for effective and compassionate support making sustainable life changes in mind-body-spirit health. If you're going through depression, anxiety, stress, life-stage transitions, low self-esteem, struggle with self-care, relationship conflict, or work/home life balance, this may be a good fit for you. Overcoming the obstacles keeping you from being and feeling your best, understanding deeply your feelings and needs, healing your internal relationship with Self and quality connections with others, and finding more satisfaction and contentment in daily life are common achievements in therapy with me.

I respect your decision to seek out therapy as I believe finding the right fit in a therapist is a difficult task. I believe it is through in-depth therapy that people can learn to tolerate difficult feelings, deepen develop a sense of inner calm, and find insight into life-long patterns. My work is informed by women’s studies, sociology, studio art, Argentine dance, and psychoanalytic therapy. I understand that mental health is a complex intersection of many factors in life. I work collaboratively within these intersections to create a therapeutic relationship to help individuals develop a deeper understanding of their lives.

One of the most positive changes I have noticed in the past 35 years as a practicing clinical psychologist, is how people view therapy. Seeking treatment is now considered a sign of resourcefulness and courage. Finally, there is an awareness and appreciation for both mental and physical well-being. I work with individuals across the lifespan. I have experience treating a wide range of mental health diagnoses and am an ASSECT-certified sex therapist and member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).

Life is hard. We live in a complex world that can be stressful and overwhelming. Most of us were never taught the tools to manage emotional and mental challenges, which can lead to anxiety and depression. The good news is that you are not alone! Let me help you uncover what’s keeping you from living your best life. I have the privilege of working with kids, teens and families in a variety of settings. I enjoy working with kids and young adults who have difficulty managing relationships, school performance decline, increased fighting with parents/siblings, anxiety & depression.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
