I work with an amazing team at ALL IN Therapy that approaches treatment from a holistic mindset. Working nine-to-five doesn't mean there isn't time to prioritize your mental health. I'm a "night-owl therapist" and am available from 11 AM through 9 PM on weekdays. I want to ensure that therapy can integrate seamlessly into your life without disrupting it, whether you work daytime hours, are a student, or just feel more comfortable talking with someone after a long day rather than during it. We'll work together to find ways to manage your concerns so you can find more stability, passion, meaning, and peace in your life.

I help middle-age couples who are stuck in the same fight over and over again break their cycle. People who see me long for their best friend to come back and want to reconnect with their partner.

I am a clinical psychologist and proprietor of Minnesota Psychological Services, LLC. I consider myself a generalist clinician, meaning I can assess and treat most psychological and mental health concerns. I have extensive training and experience working with individuals in various stages of substance use recovery: individual therapy as a primary means to address problematic substance use and/or developing new strategies for coping with strong emotions and other behavioral concerns without substance use. I offer a genuine dual-diagnosis approach that most addiction treatments do not provide.

Positive mental health is a right for all, critical to managing daily life, and necessary to realize one's full potential and authentic self. Although life can saddle us with trauma and extreme stress, counseling gives us the tools and support to understand the roots of our stress and develop through it. Therapy promotes and emphasizes wellness, empowerment, and growth. It's a powerful way to explore and optimize our holistic wellbeing. Contacting a professional for therapy can feel intimidating. However, seeking counseling early on can help deescalate issues and equip us with tools to manage and prevent future issues.

My personal philosophy and professional approach to therapy is based on the belief that when therapeutic objectives are developed collaboratively between the client and therapist, there will be greater productivity and ultimate success of the treatment. The methodologies and theoretical applications that I use are a conglomerate of tools based on extensive academic training in health psychology, which includes the scientific study of the bio-chemical and neuro-physiological processes of the human brain & body and its effect on emotions, thoughts, perception and behavior; and furthermore incorporates the use of cognitive-behavioral, psycho-analytical, object relations, multi-cultural and humanistic perspectives.

As a counseling psychologist, the majority of my work is focused on helping individuals negotiate the emotional setbacks they encounter throughout their lives. Feeling disconnected from ourselves and others, individuals can easily become depressed, anxious, or feel broken. My work in individual therapy centers on helping my clients to reconnect to stronger parts of themselves. I utilize an integrative approach that combines the science of psychology with interpersonal warmth, acceptance and understanding.

Life is hard and often not fair at times. We seek therapy to feel heard, validated and find ways to move through our pain. I work with a broad range of individuals, couple's and families. My passion is helping those with relational issues, developmental trauma, substance use as well as eating disorders. I will work with individuals (13+). I love working with transplants as I understand the complexities of moving to another part of the country and not knowing the culture. My goal is to help you find yourself, that internal voice that tells you, "you are worthy, you are enough."

I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help people improve their mental health. I believe that each person deserves treatment tailored to their experience and needs. In session, I help people change patterns of unhealthy thoughts or behaviors and examine meaning of life experiences. As a counselor, I am open-minded, analytical, and casual while allowing space for challenging clients to improve their lives. I practice from an informed consent perspective aimed at reducing barriers to care and emphasizing bodily autonomy. This often involves writing letters of support for medical transition services.

Yeah, you’re going to like Laura. She’s got a great blend of sass and softness. Clients bond with her quickly, and they tend to really love working with her. Working with Laura feels like meeting a friend for brunch on a Sunday. There can be conversations full of laughs and insight, or there can be conversations that are much softer and get to some really tough topics. Either way, you’re going to walk away a bit lighter and looking forward to tackling the week. Laura has a special power of making people feel very relaxed and at ease. It’s super cool to witness.

As a licensed addictions counselor and mental health practitioner with Club Recovery I understand very well the nature of Gambling Disorder and see myself in the people I serve. I have come to develop my perspective on treatment from my own journey in recovery. My goal is to help patients with true insight of Gambling Disorder, how it has effected them and their families, and develop an understanding of this still very misunderstood aspect of the disease of addiction. My gambling treatment program utilizes a cognitive-behavioral model that focuses on raising awareness of one’s emotions, thoughts and behaviors related to gambling.

Drug Abuse Therapists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.
How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.
How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
