I can help with issues such as depression, rumination, anxiety, inattention/ADHD, grief/loss, mood swings, and eating disorders, among many others.
Currently accepting new telehealth clients, please schedule via our online portal or call Affinity Psychological Services. My ideal client is someone who is ready to learn new skills and make changes in their lives. I believe the core benefit of therapy is working to get off “auto-pilot” by improving mindfulness and awareness of automatic thoughts. Once mindfulness is improved, we can work together to change distorted thoughts into something more rational/adaptive. I seek to help you feel more regulated, or calm, when strong emotions present themselves.

My specialty is helping people with "ADHD," anxiety, depression and/or medical conditions exacerbated by stress learn to regulate their brain/body better.
I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, biofeedback and neurofeedback to help people , including reducing or eliminating the need for medications. I work with Liz Nash, MA, LMFT, AT-RBC and Brenda Hightshoe, MA, LPCC. We treat anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, traumatic brain injury and learning disabilities. CBT helps you create adaptive thinking. We use quantitative EEG "brain mapping" with the Neuroguide normative database to help see why people have the problems they're having. Quantitative EEG "targets" training with neurofeedback, which helps clients learn to pay attention without drugs, relax, and feel more like themselves.

Kelsey specializes in clients with Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, PostPartum issues, or find themselves at a major crossroads in life and need someone to help them navigate through it.
She's very relaxed, present, warm, and kind. She’s like a nice warm blanket, with some hot cocoa…she just feels right. Kelsey is very gifted and determined to help her clients make the change they are looking for. While she is patient and kind, she is not going to do the work for you. She does ask that her clients put effort into their change in-between session. But, as long as you are trying your best, you are going to find working with her to be both helpful and motivating.

Are you or someone in your family struggling with ADD/ADHD? Life can be much better quickly and getting help can be fun! I really understand ADD and what works to guide others to create lives that are joyful and fulfilling. If you are frustrated with yourself, your children or spouse, learning how you or they are wired and what strategies work better will help. My goal is to help every child, adolescent, and/or young adult touched by ADHD navigate through their specific challenges, and find their unique areas of brilliance. I have been practicing as a child and adolescent psychologist for over twenty years. I work closely with youth, parents, educators, and families. One of my primary areas of expertise is neuropsychological testing, which has given me great insight into how children and adolescents learn. I founded my own organization, ADHD&U, in 2019 after writing a book about raising my own son with ADHD (Raising Will: Surviving the Brilliance and Blues of ADHD).

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
