Hi there! Therapy should feel as real as life does—messy, sometimes funny, and always meaningful. I’m here to make therapy engaging, inviting, friendly, and uplifting. By being genuine and real myself, I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable being your authentic, vulnerable self. I am a safe, LGBTQIA+ allied therapist whose values include advocacy for marginalized communities, social justice, and authenticity. I appreciate working with individuals motivated for change, ready to set and achieve goals collaboratively, and committed to creating a more fulfilling life.

Committing to time for your mental health or that of your family is a big step that shows strength and the beginning of a wonderful journey to change. I understand that it can be vulnerable and scary, which is why we will work at your pace and find solutions that make sense to you. This is YOUR journey, and I am along for the ride as a supportive guide, whether it is for you, your child, or your family. I chose to seek a career in mental health after 10 years of experience in the education field. Children and families need therapists who understand them and can help manage the ups and downs of changes in their lives.

I have been working as a clinical therapist for more than 12 years, and previously worked in community social services with individuals experiencing homelessness and severe persistent mental illness. Over 15 years of work in the mental health field has taught me that a successful therapeutic relationship relies on building trust while seeking to understand my patients' points of view. In my previous therapy and social work roles, this belief has remained at the center of my work. As a therapist, I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults with a variety of presenting concerns.

We don't have to look far in our modern world to feel overwhelmed. We're often faced with ethical challenges before we get out the door in the morning! Sometimes life gives us more than we feel we can handle. Sometimes our pain stems from loss of a loved one, a beloved pet, or difficulty navigating life transitions. Sometimes we get stuck in unhelpful patterns and can't seem to make the changes we want. Therapy can be a helpful tool to explore the places we get stuck and find new ways of moving forward.

As an openly polyamorous-queer-gender expansive person, I’ve spent most of my life experiencing microaggressions & unlearning the cisnormative & hetronormative messages that constantly tell us we are defective, broken, or unwanted. They are wrong! We are fabulous, vibrant & deserving, of all the gifts the world has to offer. I became a therapist to share what I’ve learned, bring healing, & advocate for queer/trans youth, young adults & their families while working for social justice & full inclusion into society. Our work will be in a safe, affirming space so we can collaborate to create & implement a road map to your recovery.

I find that people can be in all sorts of stages in their lives and readiness to change. What matters more is the willingness to explore, be curious, and most likely ask some difficult questions. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect with people with all different kinds of life experiences. I tend to relate with those who identify as neurodivergent, or feel "other" in some way. My approach is very non-judgmental, and I do well with those who live "alternative" lifestyles, such as polyamory, ethical monogamy, kink/BDSM, and/or sex workers. I've been a therapist for a long time and no one has scared me away yet!

My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, dedication and authenticity. I strive to create a safe, supportive and trusting environment where my clients will feel comfortable, heard and understood; while exploring their thoughts, feelings, and most "raw" aspects of themselves. I meet each individual where they are and walk beside them on their journey to meet their personal goal(s) to ensure they do not feel alone. I believe the individual leads the sessions, determines what they want and need from each session and goal creation. It is a team effort, but one I am here to support and engage others/team if wanted/needed.

I enjoy supporting families facing parenting challenges, as well as the unique gifts and experiences of parenting children with special needs. I also enjoy working with adolescents and young adults who are struggling with life transitions, managing relationships, school concerns, anxiety, and depression. Additionally, I have significant experience working with individuals in the adoption triad, as well as those considering or in the midst of the adoption process, and following placement transition. It is common for families to experience increased stress, grief, and challenges related to trauma and attachment.

A bulk of my experience has been working with adult males, however I also work with women, and family members of those with addiction.

I believe for better and for worse, we need humans. The for better, when we are living in healthy connected relationships, that generally feels good for us. The for worse, it’s really hard to human with other humans, and this is often a source of our distress. As a therapist, I help clients better understand their past and present relational patterns. I help clients find healing to empower them to show up as their authentic selves. Therapy can be so ambiguous at times. It is for this reason I provide individuals with the brain science of how we interact in the world while helping them set clear, realistic goals in their lives.
