I'm a Holistic Health & Life Coach, and Somatic Therapist located in Plymouth, and I work with the body, mind and spirit. I integrate coaching, psychotherapy, spirituality, and holistic health based on my client's needs, and I work with emotions, core values, and unconscious beliefs. I greatly respect my clients and feel honored to join them in their path towards personal growth as they uncover their true potential.

AEDP is particularly well suited to deal with attachment issues, early childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, shame, and family difficulties.
Healing is a process that we are not meant to do alone. I am here to help soften the barriers that prevent you from healing, and remove obstacles that block your full potential. During each session, I create a warm, non-judgemental space in which we can work together to unpack the challenges that you face in your life. I am committed to helping you overcome the root cause of your problems rather than simply rearranging what’s on the surface.

I utilize experiential healing modalities including Transforming Touch, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, AEDP, and parts work, drawing from IFS and TIST.
The power of relationship and being present and embodied guide my work in supporting people dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, life-transitions, grief, health issues, or other challenges. My approach is built on compassion, care and respect for the experiences and identities that make you who you are. If you have suffered traumatic or difficult experience, from birth till now, want to be at home in yourself and with others; if you are trying to navigate a world that too easily permits oppression, or you want to grow the kernels of wholeness (even if hidden) within you, I hope to explore working together.

I used a model of therapy called AEDP which focuses on healing.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW 23383) and psychotherapist, with a focus on issues related to human sexuality. Connection, intimacy, desire, love, and joy are the things in life that enrich our human experience. When we struggle with these, life can feel very lonely. I believe that you have endless potential, but sometimes life can get in the way. My hope is to get some of the muck out of the way so you can be your best self on any given day.

I have been training in a therapy model called AEDP as well as ISTDP.
I work with clients experientially to feel deeply into their own emotions. I help clients learn to relate to themselves and people in their lives in a healthier, more wholesome way. I work by listening closely and pushing clients know what's going on internally. I tell them what I am feeling and ask clients to be in touch with their bodies and feelings not just their thinking. Ideal clients are open to this collaboration to explore emotions and seek new ways of being.

I am a Board certified psychiatrist and a licensed physician in MN with extensive psychotherapy training, particularly AEDP ( Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), and I bring a holistic approach to healing.
We all possess innate capacities for healing which come forward when we feel safe and seen. Having access to our emotions fuels our vitality, creativity and engagement with life. However, painful experiences including unwanted aloneness, trauma, loss and oppression can separate us from our core emotions, from others and from a full life. I believe in the power of relationships to heal. I believe in the courage and wisdom of each patient. I have witnessed how psychotherapy helps people tap into these resources and transform their lives.

Considering therapy can stir up the question, "Is healing even possible for me?" My answer is, "Yes, it is!" I've found that when issues come to the surface and disrupt our lives, they are ready for healing! Our issues often began as coping mechanisms to deal with difficult life experiences. These “solutions” then take on a life of their own and keep us stuck in negative patterns. I help my clients find where their problems got stuck, release them, and experience healing and freedom. I also believe that experiencing positive emotions (like joy, hope, and laughter) is an integral part of healing, and these are part of my sessions.

You might be unsure or nervous about starting therapy, but you know you need some help. The feelings are big and sometimes you can push it down and ignore it, but more and more it keeps showing up, demanding to be addressed. Relationships are confusing. You want to be close but it might not feel safe. You want to have closer relationships but also people often disappoint you. You might feel on a gut level like there is something wrong with you or you are bad or unworthy. Together, we can work on this. Together, it is possible to feel better.

AEDP Therapists

Who is AEDP therapy for?

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is for adults who have experienced emotional pain in the past that, because it has not been adequately addressed and processed, interferes with current functioning. The problems might manifest in a number of different ways, from excessive anger to relationship difficulties to PTSD to eating disorders, poor self-esteem, and depression. They may also be accompanied by physiological symptoms. AEDP helps people accept and digest challenging emotional experiences.

Why do people need AEDP?

People need AEDP as a way to manage distressing emotions—including anger, shame, and guilt—that in some way hamper the ability to function and form satisfying relationships in the present. The therapist-client relationship is believed to provide corrective emotional and relational experiences that facilitate positive changes in brain function, forge pathways for processing traumatic experiences, and allow resolution of emotional pain.

What happens in AEDP therapy?

Once individuals have established a strong bond with the AEDP therapist and the therapist has established a safe and secure environment, clients are encouraged to explore their most painful emotional experiences. They may be asked to pay attention to disquieting body sensations as well as to psychological discomfort. Individuals learn how to process emotions, rather than avoid them. Through the strength of the therapist-client bond, each session is intended to provide a powerful positive experience for individuals, enabling growth.

What problems does AEDP treat?

AEDP is intended to treat the unprocessed emotional pain caused by earlier distressing experiences, which commonly includes behavioral avoidance of current situations and experiences for fear that they will reactivate painful feelings. Emotional pain and avoidant behavior play a role in a wide array of mental health conditions, which is why AEDP is applied to the treatment of a range of disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and eating disorders.
