I am trained in EMDR, brainspotting, and other trauma interventions.
It can be a very scary feeling to take the first step towards therapy for you or your loved ones, and it takes courage and strength to ask for help. You are now taking those all-important first steps! You may be experiencing feelings of anxiety, depression, loneliness, and hopelessness, just to mention a few on a very long list of not-so-good feelings. Any of these feelings can make you feel stressed, unmotivated, and not knowing how to move forward.

I utilize brainspotting to support clients who experience trauma, anxiety, and depression.
Authenticity serves as a catalyst for personal and communal growth. I firmly believe in the transformative power of genuine connections, where trust and respect flourish. Within such relationships, individuals find fertile ground for self-discovery and development beyond their expectations. I am committed to embracing my true self, and I extends this ethos into my therapeutic practice, infusing it with warmth, respect, guidance, humor, and unfiltered honesty.

Accepting residents of MN. Do you often feel misunderstood, scared, stuck, unheard, or like you don't matter? Sometimes life experiences have us feeling like we are constantly struggling or fighting to survive. Maybe you feel like it's difficult to connect with others or even find it difficult to love yourself. This can leave you feeling lonely and unsure of the future, possibly even unsure if you can trust anyone to understand your struggles. I have interest in helping those who struggle with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief, and psychological trauma.

I practice Brainspotting- a powerful, brain-body based psychotherapy similar to EMDR.
Hi! I'm so glad you found my page. I'm a licensed therapist that specializes in trauma, addiction, and ketamine assisted psychotherapy. Clients work with me to engage in deeper, somatic psychotherapy to free themselves from complex traumas, addictions, burdens, and problems that they've not been able to resolve on their own. Those struggling with PTSD, addictions, identity issues, depression, anxiety, or those who have done lots of therapy without achieving the results they want may benefit from the trauma healing intensives that I do. This setting allows us to get to the core of your issues without the limits of a one hour session.

I am a somatic psychotherapist and primarily support my clients through my training in Brainspotting, a brain and body-based therapy/intervention.
I am honored to work side by side with my clients in their therapeutic journey and believe in facilitating the deepest level of healing. Our bodies hold on to trauma, grief, loss, and painful memories. If these issues aren't healed, they come out in disruptive and often destructive ways: Substance use, anger, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, etc. I specialize in working with victims of childhood sexual abuse, sexual violence survivors and sexual trauma, as well as developmental trauma. I also have experience and passion in treating first responders and veterans, and those who have experienced trauma in their line of work.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
