I enjoy assisting people in their journey to overcome life changes, trauma, depression, anxiety, family of origin issues, parenting issues, grief and loss, and self-image. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor in the state of Minnesota and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor in the state of Indiana offering online sessions. I am passionate about providing a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for clients to bring their whole self to explore emotions, thoughts, patterns, strengths, and adaptive and non-adaptive coping skills and work together to create a life worth living. I have a passion for supporting the mental wellness of individuals who work in high stress employment positions. I have an understanding of the law enforcement and corrections fields. I specialize in working with individuals in law enforcement, corrections, military, medical, security, and other first responder roles. Sometimes life can become heavy over time and can lead to feelings of being alone, unheard, and lost. I take the approach of learning about your unique story, providing space and support to debrief and process significant events and ongoing stress areas, and teaching skills to develop overall mental wellness.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), since 2016, whom has been working in the field of mental health since 2001. I have worked in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, in home services, transitional treatment and outpatient therapy. I have been working in outpatient mental health therapy since 2012, seeing clients for various reasons including mood concerns, anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, grief and loss, relationship issues, self-esteem concerns, substance use and self-growth/enhancement. I work with preteens, teens, adults, couples and families.

I have experience working with a culturally diverse population of individuals. My clients range from age 6 to age 65. Most of my experience is working with children, teens, young adults, adults, and families. I believe the greatest success is to accompany the client on their journey and to be the guide to navigate through the challenges of life. I specialize in assisting individuals who have anxiety, depression, and trauma using EMDR and IFS modalities, as these are the primary modalities I use in my practice. However, I personalize my approach to meet each client's specific needs and utilize tools from CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness therapy.

New clients often say "I don't have energy", "I can't seem to stop thinking about everything", "I don't know what's wrong with me" and "I don't know what to do". What I am here to do is teach how their responses are not only "normal", but how to navigate to where they want to be with a science based approach. My interest is working with adults and teens by providing education and solutions to barriers in their daily lives. Christina enjoys working with individuals, couples and families helping support them in making changes they want to make. She has her B.A. in Sociology and Diversity Studies from SCSU and her M.S. in MHC from Walden University. She is an LPCC, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of MN. Christina has worked 10 years in clinical counseling. She has 24 additional years working with children, and families with services that are person-centered, strength-based and therapeutic. She has worked in foster and long-term residential based programs, as well as crisis, substance abuse treatment, vocational and education areas.

I am passionate about self-empowerment and believe that relationships with self, significant other, family, and friends are important and interconnected. I approach therapy with a focus on mind-body wellness and work collaboratively with my clients. I provide a safe and compassionate environment where clients from all cultures and communities feel heard and understood.
