Melissa Cribb is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Minnesota with 12 years of experience. She completed her Master's Degree in Community Counseling from St. Cloud State University and has experience working in diverse settings including, high intensity outpatient, outpatient, and harm reduction settings. Melissa believes in a strengths-based approach and works from a person-centered perspective while incorporating motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral, and trauma-informed techniques.

I enjoy working with adults, children (ages 10+), pre-teens, teens and their families. I have extensive experience addressing symptoms of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, low self-esteem/ self-concept, social/ emotional difficulties, co-occurring mental health diagnoses, grief and loss, parenting, emotional difficulties related to family of origin, and issues related to adoption and kinship care for all members of adoptive and kinship families, particularly attachment related difficulties.

In doing so, I utilize person-centered, strength-based, trauma-informed, and systemic approaches in therapy with specific techniques from ACT, narrative, DBT, CBT, and EMDR. Clients can expect unconditional care, a sense of authenticity, respect for their unique story, and yes, even a space for humor when participating in one of my sessions.

I'm open to work with individual adults, couples and family, with a special interest in working with elder adults. I'm passionate about providing support to life transitions, relationship issues, emotional distress and promoting well-being.
