Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) works! This therapy allows you to heal from trauma/upsetting memories without talking about them in detail. I can help you prepare for EMDR therapy by exploring coping skills and building confidence to accept that you have the strength within yourself to process your past safely.
I was recently told that a client's experience with EMDR made them able to almost feel comfort in their trauma memory, as they realize now that the trauma was the core of all their negative beliefs about themselves. Now that the trauma is healed, they are able to instinctively think about themselves in a positive soothing way.
