I enjoy working with folks who experience anxiety, depression, ADHD/neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ issues, sexuality, life transitions, family conflict, women’s issues, family planning, and healing from childhood trauma in adulthood.
Hi, I'm glad you're here! It is a sacred privilege to be a therapist, to sit with people during the most challenging moments of their lives. I’m looking forward to collaborating together, as you navigate healing and growth. My goal as a clinician is to cultivate a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where you feel comfortable to express yourself authentically. Together, we can use an integrative approach toward healing through mindfulness, expressive art, and other evidenced based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems.

Thus, I integrate contemporary psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, family systems, mind-body, ACT and existential approaches.
Deciding to seek help can be one of the most difficult and most rewarding decisions of your life. Facing vulnerability is hard, but connecting with a therapist, feeling heard and understood, and working as a partner in your journey toward a more fulfilling life makes it easier. I provide a comfortable, safe environment where you will feel free to express yourself, to understand what holds you back and causes distress, and to take the steps necessary to move forward. My attuned, respectful manner helps people overcome painful anxiety, shame, depression, relationship difficulties, job/school stress, trauma, identity and eating issues.

These include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, Play Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Family Systems, and Gottman’s Sound Relationship House Theory.
“You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside.” Are you allowing trauma, anxiety, and stress to disrupt your inside space? Trauma can change your view of your life and yourself. Stress and anxiety can shorten your lifespan. I am passionate about helping my clients, who include children, adults, families and couple, build upon their strengths so they can remove any barriers that keep them from feeling peaceful, complete, and safe.

What keeps you awake at night? Interpersonal relationships? School? Work? Friendships? Family? Parenting? Depression? Anxiety? Self doubt? Deeply rooted negative habits? Not sure? Have you experienced loss or a life-changing event? Are you ready to tackle personal issues that have been tripping you up? Are you having difficulty caused by past relationships? Can you trust your own intuition? Is negative self-talk a problem? I'd imagine you're looking for contentment, peace of mind, perspective, healing and ideas to help you successfully cope with the challenges that life brings.

My specialties include couple, marital and premarital counseling along with family work employing family systems approaches, incorporating attachment needs.
I believe that most people come to counseling after many attempts to solve their problem other ways, but have found that those efforts have not led to an outcome that fits, or has been able to last over time. Counseling provides an opportunity to explore aspects of one's self and relationships in ways that lead to increased awareness and greater fulfillment and meaning in relationships and various aspects of one's life.

I believe a child's mental health is just as important as their physical health. I offer individual and family psychotherapy for children, teens and adults. I strongly encourage guardians to be involved in the therapy process. I believe in a collaborative approach between myself, the child, and guardian will ultimately achieve the best therapeutic success and progress. I work within the family dynamic to make long lasting changes that will improve the overall family system. Currently taking new patients for virtual sessions.

When we're feeling overwhelmed with family and/or career responsibilities, we feel we should just be able to “handle” it alone.
"Mental health isn't a thing. Talking about feelings and experiences isn't going to help. Things will get better by just putting my head down and powering through. I'm strong, self-reliant, and I don't need any help. I'll be fine just the way I am." These are all valid thoughts and feelings for an individual to have and many people believe these statements are true. Stereotypically, men especially, fall into these thought patterns. The numbers reflect this, approximately 30% vs 70% of those seeking counseling are men vs women. We are taught men don't have feelings and if they do they sure as hell don't talk to anybody about them.

I have experience in helping others navigate many different issues, including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, grief, overwhelming feelings, obsessive thoughts, relationship struggles, communication issues, family wounds, forgiveness and emotional healing, meaning and purpose, crisis of faith, and the search for inner peace.
As a counselor, I care deeply about helping people find support, guidance, and healing amidst the ups and downs of life. I believe that people deserve to be listened to and that the challenges and issues they face need to be understood before solutions can be offered.

Our experiences include working with teens, family/work related stress, grief and loss, trauma (abuse and other traumatic experiences) and individuals struggling with depression and/or anxiety.
We provide services that would help empower clients to reach their full potential. We believe that a holistic approach is essential in working through life's challenges and focusing on the whole person. The ideal client understands that there is no secret formula for change, however, with persistence and effort, change is inevitable.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
