Hi, I’m Nate Apel, LLPC, a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor, and I'm currently accepting new clients, so, for the time being anyway, there's no waiting to get in to see me. I specialize in working with children, youth, adults, families, and couples, and I look forward to helping you, and those in your care, achieve a greater sense of calm and wellbeing. I completed my Master’s in Counseling, and my Bachelors in Family Life Education from Spring Arbor University, and I bring 15 years of clinical and life experience working with youth, families and adults in schools, churches, and private practice.

Hello! I'm Misty! I work with children, adolescents, and families! My specialization is ages 12-18, but I work with as young as 5. I use numerous approaches to meet the needs of my clients. I am working toward my registered play therapy (RPT) credential and utilize play, art, and Sand Tray to make therapy exciting for kids! I invite caregivers into the therapeutic process so the healing can continue happening at home. For adolescents, I utilize talk therapy or some of the above techniques to help process. Additionally, I engage in EMDR and have limited availability for individuals experiencing domestic violence.

Understanding what is motivating a child’s behavior often takes a trained eye. The therapeutic relationship will help foster an understanding, work towards preventing and managing psychological based distress for both parents and children. Children often do not have the words to let parents know why they are acting the way they do. Parents wonder is this just a phase my child is going through? As a therapist my role is to gain an understanding of what makes your child do what he or she is doing. Working together with parents is a critical part of the therapeutic process to foster your child's success.

I am a clinical behavioral therapist with a private practice focusing mainly on children and families. I enjoy working with children and use various play techniques to explore the lagging skills which may have developed strong responses and behaviors to stressors in your child. There are many instances in which I will accept the parent as client to address behaviors in the home. I work with siblings when appropriate and have worked with clients ages 4-adulthood.

I will support the growth of teens and adults who struggle with self confidence, decision making, relationships, and planning for the future. Exploration will begin with examining home life, social skills, and aspects of career or school. If one is struggling with any of these elements, it is likely having a negative impact on other areas. In addition, I can improve a student-athlete's performance in competition. By taking the same approach, an athlete can maximize their potential by identifying and improving other areas of their life away from the game.

My ideal client would be a client between the ages of 11 to 19 who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and/or adolescent issues who are seeking someone that can empathize with their problems and find realistic solutions.

Tammy has specialized training and experience in the treatment of trauma & loss. She works with children (3 yrs+), adolescents, and adults addressing issues of depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief, abuse, college/career, military issues, and perinatal & menopausal mental health concerns. Tammy has a large welcoming sandtray play therapy room and separate space for adult talk and sandtray therapy.

I treat a broad age range of clients (1 to 100). I take a developmental and psychodynamic approach which examines early life experiences that affect one's development and current problems. As a marriage and family therapist, I treat both individuals and families, closely examining relationship challenges and providing ways to resolve them between parents and children, siblings, adult partners, and friends. I also specialize in assessment and treatment of trauma, abuse, dissociation, and PTSD. I have a dual approach of treating the source of one's problems and managing current difficulties.

Working out of 6 offices around the Metro Detroit area, We are a Mental & Physical Health service that offers Mental Therapy to exercise the mind and if requested we have Fitness Training to exercise the body. We put an emphasis on pregnant & postpartum mothers by offering monthly mommy fitness classes and monthly mommy discussion circles to help prevent or relieve postpartum depression. We have 3 highly educated Licensed therapists and a personal trainer on staff.
