I am Michelle, a body positive BIPOC clinician and LGBTQIA+ ally with specialized experience in trauma-informed psychotherapy working with survivors of intimate partner violence, complex PTSD, disruption of childhood attachment, PTSD, acute stress, mood and anxiety disorders. Are you looking for someone who just gets you? Someone who is going to hold up a mirror and help you face your fears? In a way that challenges you, so you can develop tools you can use for the rest of your life. Visit my website to schedule an appointment today!
I am compassion-focused and provide a non-judgmental safe space where therapy is paced based your needs. Taking the first step to begin your therapy journey was a big one. Thank you for your consideration in beginning or continuing that journey with me.

I use EMDR to create new neuropathways in the brain, allowing information that might have gotten stuck the opportunity to begin to move forward. You will remember the material/memories but they won't be as disturbing. Our sessions will focus on targeting these memories; and in addition, talk therapy in between sessions to process progress and other urgent life issues as they emerge.

I use CBT to help clients recognize how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other then on using that knowledge to interrupt negative patterns with coping skills, techniques, and strategies to achieve your goals. DBT is skills based where the end goal is to modify behavior you believe is problematic in your life; I'd do this by applying a combination of validation and problem-solving.
