Wellness comes from balance in all the areas of our lives: emotional, physical, social, and spiritual. Often things come up that tip the scales beyond what we can handle on our own. In counseling we work together to help you find that balance again, develop skills where needed, and move you into a healthier place. With a strong background in biology the approach to counseling is very solution focused and takes into account the natural tendencies and responses that may work against wellbeing. I work with couples and individuals looking at issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, sex, menopause, postpartum, parenting, and ADHD.
Emotionally Focused Therapy is designed to create healing experiences and a sense of safety from which trust and connection develop. We work together to find underlying emotions and needs, unravel why they get stuck during conflict making it possible for couples to communicate in new ways.
You do not have to be alone in your struggle. Counseling provides an opportunity to have someone else on your team, working with you to overcome your challenges and manage the difficulties of life. It changes everything when you know you are heard and understood.
