Hi! I'm Dr. Michelle Blake. Both my master's and my Ph.D. are in social work, and I am licensed in both Tennessee and Indiana. My approach is based in person-centered therapy, although I freely incorporate additional modalities. I enjoy a variety of client groups, including life transitions, LGBTQIA, and adults at midlife and beyond. My basic approach is person-centered. Above all, I want clients to feel comfortable and welcome. Some of the other theories I utilize are cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, problem-solving, and feminist. If the client is interested, I like including writing and other expressive options.
I'm hoping your first session will feel like Tea with Aunt Michelle. I want to set an environment that is warm, welcoming, and respectful and that invites clients to consider their values, hopes, and personal concerns with support.
