As your therapist, I will treat you with respect and empathy. I am active, supportive and nonjudgmental. People experience me as warm, easy to talk to, and responsive with a good sense of humor. I treat individuals and couples especially those seeking help with overcoming childhood trauma, ACOA, depression, anxiety, low elf esteem, problems related to aging and LGBTQ issues. I enjoy being part of a relationship in which there is growth and healing. I have grown a lot both as patient and therapist. I have also taught at several institutes and offer supervision in relational psychodynamic psychotherapy.
My primary training is in relational self psychology which taught me the importance of creating a reliable and understanding relational home for the person to bring their hopes and their hurts. I enjoy working with dreams and other creative outlets. I am a member of the LGBTQ community and was clinical director of SAGE.
Having studied many modalities, I am able to tailor interventions to needs of the client. I began my career with psychodrama and Gestalt working in private practice and in-patient psychiatric. I then studied psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy. Recently, I have focused on trauma and included body centered modalities: Somatic Experiencing and SensoriMotor psychotherapy.
