I have over 14 years of experience working with children and families. I have worked as a community based social worker, guidance counselor, behavior specialist and mental health therapist. During the week, I work as a mental health therapist in the school setting. Therefore, I am well versed in the challenges today's children are facing. I bring all of the experience and knowledge from these roles into my sessions with my clients. My go to therapy is Cognitive Behavior Therapy but I use a variety of other therapies depending on needs. My experience is working with children aged 3-21, however, my area of speciality is age 10-15.
My approach to therapy is a belief that the connection, bond and relationship between therapist and client is number one. It has to be a trusting and compassionate relationship to be successful. I pride myself on being able to foster that bond. I believe that change is possible and that we, humans, have the capacity to change.
Clients can be expected to walk away from services feeling empowered with the tools, strategies, and knowledge to achieve their personal goals.
