I strive to be a therapist who is empathic and non-judgmental while utilizing insight to help patients to increase self-awareness. I have witnessed clients become more empathic towards themselves as well seeing their suffering decrease. Therapy can markedly improve the quality of clients' relationships, work, and play. An important aspect of therapy is looking at your feelings in the present moment or "here and now" with me. The therapeutic relationship itself helps heal and we will analyze it at times. I aim to create an environment where the client feels safe and free to express themselves to increase self awareness.
One of my specialties is working with athletes particularly with performance issues. At times I apply principles of sports psychology to other aspects of life. Life can be very challenging and complex even if it is going relatively well. Psychotherapy can help ease suffering and increase the capacity for greater connection and fulfillment. The focus of the group is interpersonal and in the here and now. This means the group members interactions with each other and the therapist are explored.
