As a couples counselor, I help culturally and ethnically diverse partners manage and resolve conflict through more effective communication and workable compromises. I provide techniques to avoid bringing up the negative past, playing the blame game, and making dismissive comments about the relationship. I also provide tools to limit the damage caused by ongoing hurtful interactions. Many couples come to see me after trying other therapists and benefit from a practical, hands-on approach. If we are working well together, you can expect to see improvement in your relationship early on in the process.
I have worked with couples on a wide range of issues, often involving sex and intimacy, money, substance use, trust, in-laws, parenting and household responsibilities. From my years of experience, I have found that almost any conflict in a relationship can be resolved as long as couples are committed to each other and open to changing how they communicate.
As a goal-oriented therapist, I help adults address concerns that involve relationships, moods, grief, life transitions, anxiety, and career concerns. Stress management has always played a big role in my work. Most successful with those who prefer a shorter-term therapy, want interaction during meetings, and value working with a seasoned practitioner.
