I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years and have been a practicing clinical social worker for the past 12 years. In addition to private practice work, I have significant experience working in emergency medical and crisis intervention settings. I've counseled thousands of clients ranging in all types of mental health issues throughout my career.
Together, the client and I focus on living a life driven by his or her core values. Utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy principles, we focus on changing the relationship we have with our thoughts and feelings. I also employ elements of Cognitive Behavior, Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Meditation in order to accomplish our goals.
In addition to being a certified clinical social worker, I am a certified mindfulness meditation instructor and incorporate elements of my mindfulness training into my therapy practice.
