I believe life can get better. My style is active and emotionally connected, always respectful of the client's concerns, whether working with adults, children, or teens. My training helps me see the "big picture," but my skills include the flexibility to focus on concrete issues. Problems are quickly identified, because therapy does not have to last for years. Yet, many clients find value in examining life over the long term, within a warm, accepting therapeutic relationship, colored by directness, honesty, and humor.
My experience includes individual, couple, and family therapy. Many clients want to obtain more satisfaction in relationships and identify life goals. Others want to address depression/anxiety, or work through loss and grief. I facilitate these changes through understanding how people develop over the lifespan, and helping to identify real opportunities for change.
I work a lot with musicians, writers, painters, and other creative artists, drawing on my own experiences in the arts and research on creativity, including such areas as performance anxiety, creative depletion/replenishment, and examining discrepancies between artistic life and personal life. I also work with small ensembles to resolve stylistic and temperamental conflict.

Sexual Abuse Support Group
For men who have lived with the secret burden of sexual abuse, this is an opportunity to share your experiences with other survivors in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental atmosphere. Group participation is an important means of gaining access to empowerment, healing, and connection to others. The group explores issues of shame, guilt, safety, and relatedness and promotes greater self-awareness and responses to the challenges of life. The group is an adjunctive treatment modality for male survivors who are already in long-term individual therapy. You're welcome to email or call Dr. Singer for more information.
