I am dedicated counselor that is passionate about helping individuals recover from childhood trauma and who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, anger, grief/loss, and addiction and substance abuse issues. I offer compassionate and non-judgmental person-centered therapy and believe clients should have autonomy and independence to make their own decisions. Through a trauma-focused lens, I encourage my clients to take control of their lives by providing my clients with necessary skills and tools to do so. I provide a safe space for clients to open up and process whatever is causing emotional distress in their lives.
I utilize eclectic therapy to directly meet my clients' needs by drawing from multiple therapy approaches and techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and I am interested in utilizing new techniques that are specifically used in trauma therapy and play therapy for children.
With my client's, I prioritize building trust and creating a safe space to cultivate honest and open communication. At times, it is difficult to ask for the help you need. I shed light on my client's strengths to promote autonomy and independence while also providing them with necessary tools for stabilization and coping skills to take on everyday challenges
