I am a Licensed Psychologist specializing in individual and couples therapy, as well as helping people manage daily life stressors. People that haven't experienced the physical complications and distressing symptoms can't relate. Talking about our "stuff" is uncomfortable because we often feel shame or guilt as we think we should be grateful or we're not feeling good enough.
