My name is Ms. Okiymo Manica and I’m here to service the needs of the community. I'm available during the school year virtual only and then in-person in the summer. I enjoy working with youth, teens and adults. I'm here to help equip everyone with strategies to help deal with grief, anger, depression and isolation. I believe when you have someone to listen to and assist with your goals people do better. Together we can over come those barriers that hinders the developmental growth in a young persons life.

Primacare has 11 therapists on staff to include psychologists, social workers and licensed professional counselors. We have been serving Southeast Michigan and Northern Ohio for over 28 years. Primacare recognizes the value of each and every individual. Through our programs and services, we have positioned ourselves to assist individuals by providing positive life changing experiences. The intersectionality of my identities as a therapist, veteran, and black man have given me a great deal of empathy for how difficult life can be at times. I am open to helping individuals from all backgrounds with interventions grounded in CBT, DBT, ACT and Existential-Humanistic orientations. Finding support should not be a challenge. If you are willing to enter therapy, I am available.

My approach to therapy is working alongside a person to improve their emotional well-being while overcoming the barriers and struggles they face in their daily life. I have worked with people having several issues, including but not limited to, Depression, Anxiety, Suicidal Ideation, Emotional Dys-Regulation, Social Anxiety, Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD), Relationship Issues, LGBTQ+ issues, Social Communication/Boundary Issues, Divorce, Grief and Loss, and other Life Challenges. I counsel teenagers and adults who are dealing with some of these life challenges. I want to help you to be able to move forward again – taking one small step at a time. I want to remind you that you are not alone and that there is help available.

My true aspirations as a therapist are represented by my enjoyment of working with people, listening and engaging in helping families, children, and adults. I have grown to understand the importance of forming a trusting therapeutic alliance and establishing a good rapport with each client. Throughout the progression of my career, I have recognized the importance of offering highly accessible support, empathy, and compassion in a collaborative environment. As a result I have a wealth of experience in assessment, Autism, ADHD, crisis management, depression, divorce, family and parenting issues, grief and loss, trauma/PTSD, positive behavior support and modification, problem solving, and stress reduction and management.

She received her Bachelor's of Social Work degree and Masters of Social Work degree from Wayne State University. In her Graduate studies, she majored in Clinical Social Work with an emphasis on Interpersonal Practice and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Lara's passion is centered on helping others improve and foster lasting positive changes.

She has a Bachelor's in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and a Master's in Social Work from Wayne State University. Mary Rose Cyril-Schwartz is a Licensed Master Social Worker in Michigan who has been practicing since 1989. She has a Master in Social work and is currently working on her Doctorate degree in Social Work. Mary Rose believes in a treatment approach that includes CBT, PE-PC- PTSD focus, and EMDR. In her spare time, Mary Rose enjoys reading, cooking for friends and family, antiquing, walking, and is a cat lover and vintage clothes browser.
