I am a mental health clinician who practices in both Maryland and Michigan. Treatment will vary just as our individual personalities vary. I am looking for clients who are unsure of what they want or need but are willing to explore. I am looking for clients who have goals but need help starting the journey. I am also looking for clients who know what they want, they have begun the work, but need more support. No matter the stage or phase of treatment, I am looking for clients willing to do the work.

Over the past 24 years, I have been working with individuals struggling with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. I started my career in a substance abuse residential facility 19 years ago working with SA and duel diagnosis clients but have made the transition to traditional outpatient to address more mental health issues for the past 14 years. I come from a behavioral background but have experience in several schools of thought. My goal is to help you make the necessary progress you need to move through difficult times.

I have over 30 years of experience working with children and families. In addition, I am a certified EMDR therapist working with all ages. My career has focused on supporting children, adolescents, and families from diverse backgrounds with issues related to learning difficulties, attachment disorders, sensory integration disorders, adolescent issues and anxiety. As a result I have a wealth of experience in assessment, Autism, ADHD, crisis management, depression, divorce, family and parenting issues, grief and loss, trauma/PTSD, positive behavior support and modification, problem solving, and stress reduction and management.

I specialize in PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Child Abuse, Substance Abuse, Sexual Abuse and Neglect. I do my best to create a comfortable environment that allows the client to break barriers and gain access and insight to the root cause of their pain. I educate my clients on how to open up and explore their wounds without judgment or fear. As a result of your work, you gain the life you never believed was possible.

This does not mean we have not suffered or experienced shame, guilt and loss-for things we have done and things that have been done to us. She has 6 years of experience helping individual clients, families, has worked with and infants and children 0-6 years of age in community-based, school-based, and private practice settings. Her mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy that empowers individuals and families to lead healthier lives. Carmen is committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental space so clients to explore their emotions, beliefs, and behaviors.

Dr. Rickey Shuler is a Psychologist in Michigan who has been practicing since 2018. Dr. Rickey has numerous qualities in relation to the delivery of therapeutic services. His most influential modality of treatment is psychodynamic therapy. Dr. Rickey also utilizes a wide range of cognitive and behavioral strategies in the dissemination of care. He has a solid background in trauma focused treatment, including work with women survivors of sexual violence. Dr. Rickey has a background in psychological testing to include some nueropsych testing, achievement testing and projective testing.
