I earned my MSW in 2004 from Wayne State University. I also hold a BA in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Anthropology. I worked at Michigan Department of Human Services in areas of family, child welfare and foster care, and have taught courses in social work and women's studies at Oakland University. Social services provided me with experience in family relationships, child neglect/abuse, depression and anxiety. University work afforded me experience working with young adult problems regarding school, family and relationships. My anthropology and social work experience impart a holistic approach to advocacy for clients regarding health, work, parenting, and cultural diversity.

I believe in a client-focused approach and place an emphasis on building the counselor-client relationship. I believe that by working collaboratively in sessions, each client can reach a successful outcome. I have experience working with adolescents and adults of all ages.

I believe therapy provides a "safe place" to let ones guard down without ever having to feel judged especially in today's world. Positive growth and change is always possible when we are appreciated and empowered. I like to keep the office environment very casual, open, and inviting so you feel free to open up and truly be seen as the individual and human that you are!
