, children, adolescents, and adults) with various issues, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, family issues, anger, trauma, and ADHD.
These days, it's understandable to have difficulties with isolation, and having "nothing to do." But are those "difficulties" interfering with your ability to function? Is it preventing you from working as efficiently as you normally do? Have you had difficulty getting or staying motivated? Are you having an issue concentrating or focusing on a task? Parents, are you struggling to keep up with your child's educational performance while managing your own job? Are you having trouble in other areas of life (e.g., substance use, incarceration)? Are you angry/irritable? If you answered yes to any of the above, I can help.

I also have experience in treating domestic violence, anger management and a number of other emotional difficulties.
In my work, I know that not every theoretical approach is suitable for a particular person, but instead depends instead on the needs and the individual psychology of that person. Thus, I work collaboratively with you based on your unique needs and desires in order to find the best way to help you. My approach is direct, empathic, supportive, and non-judgmental. I will respect and honor your beliefs and values, while seeking to challenge negative assumptions of self, identify destructive behavior patterns, while encouraging personal growth and change.

I have extensive experience working with adults and youth involved in the foster care system, dealing with challenges related to abuse, loss, anger management, substance use, as well as communication and parenting issues.
Life presents all of us with challenges and difficulties. Some are obvious, some less so. Sometimes we only know that we're struggling without being able to put our finger on why that is. I don't believe you need all the answers to start your journey to overcome the obstacles that you face. The starting point is the desire to improve your relationships, family, and career. Therapy provides a supportive environment where you can learn to cope with existing distress and learn to address the needs that will help increase the quality of your life and relationships.

My goal is to work with people who struggle with depression, social issues, anxiety, self-esteem issues, anger, domestic violence's, and family related issues.
Often times the effects of old and new emotional wounds can become a person's way of life. This way of life tends to cause an individual to have feelings of loneliness, hopelessness/helplessness, thoughts leading to emotional pain, and ineffective actions that led to self-defeat. Are you dealing with emotional pain or after effects of a traumatic experience(s)? As a counselor I have aspirations to help empower you to overcome your inner battle and win! I am a licensed counselor who believes that inner healing is possible and understands the importance of having a quality of life.

I have experience working with diverse client with different mental health related issues; such as anxiety disorders, depression, stress management, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, self-esteem issues, identity issues, anger issues, grief/loss, parenting and relationship issues.
Accepting New Clients. I have been providing Telehealth services since 2020, and I strongly believe that it has the same therapeutic outcomes as in person therapy, if you and I collaborate, have good rapport and create SMART goals. As a therapist and an average person, I understand that we are exposed to many different life experiences daily and that comes with ups and downs. Our day to day life can be joyful and stressful, which can leave us feeling overwhelmed at some point. Therefore, we might need someone to talk to outside of our circle of family and friends.

Yet, when we struggle with anger, stress, and frustration.
"Mental health isn't a thing. Talking about feelings and experiences isn't going to help. Things will get better by just putting my head down and powering through. I'm strong, self-reliant, and I don't need any help. I'll be fine just the way I am." These are all valid thoughts and feelings for an individual to have and many people believe these statements are true. Stereotypically, men especially, fall into these thought patterns. The numbers reflect this, approximately 30% vs 70% of those seeking counseling are men vs women. We are taught men don't have feelings and if they do they sure as hell don't talk to anybody about them.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
