With my experience, I am able to provide treatment for individuals who are adjusting to life transitions, struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, self-harm, borderline personality, trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, grief/loss, stress management, self-esteem, and relationship issues.
I believe people have the wisdom to heal themselves, but sometimes we need guidance to discover or effectively apply it. My goal is to help you build the skills and the courage to listen to your own voice and live the life you desire. Throughout the course of treatment, patients have many opportunities to practice actively focusing on positive change and living in the present; as well as develop healthier relationships with the past and future. I combine in-session work with creative, practical take-away exercises; encouraging patients to develop and apply the means to deal with future hardships long after treatment ends.

My journey began in the year 2000 when I attended Michigan State University. I received my Bachelors in Family Community Services in 2005. I worked for head start for two years when I then realized I was not able to help people the way I saw the need. I decided to return to school to study mental health. In 2009 I graduated with my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix, with a limited license in professional Counseling. I began my career as a clinical therapist in different nonprofit and for-profit community mental health agencies for about 6 years.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
