I applaud you for seeking out help with your challenges because it means that you are brave (stepping outside of your comfort zone) and that you have made the decision to do something about your mental health (also brave). I work with many survivors of various trauma and I am trained in EMDR. If you need a good listener, somebody who is in your life to support you, somebody who is not afraid to encourage you to take control of your circumstances and mindset, and someone who can provide insight and education about mental health, I would love to meet with you!

As a therapist, the relationship I develop with clients is based on respect, support and encouragement, and is focused on building their individual strengths and resources. I believe that a nonjudgmental and welcoming environment is crucial to provide a safe space for clients discuss past and current issues and move forward. In addition to private practice, I also work as a bereavement specialist for a Michigan hospital system assisting individuals who have experienced major loss. My experience includes supporting individuals and families navigating significant health crises.

I am passionate about creating a safe and unique experience to help you heal from pain and discover new strengths and possibilities within yourself that will enable you to create more intimate and trusting relationships. Therapy is a safe space of self-exploration and building awareness of what is holding you back from leading a more fulfilling life: whether you have suffered a recent loss and trauma(s), are suffering with painful emotions or having trouble coping with a life transition etc. My areas of specializing in a wide range of issues including, PTSD, anxiety disorders, self-esteem, obsessive-compulsive disorders, grief and loss and depression.

I provide a safe environment for my clients to explore some of their most difficult thoughts and feelings. Establishing rapport is a significant part of the work we will do together. I treat a diverse clinical population including: depression, anxiety, abuse survivors, and PTSD. I specialize in human sexuality and assist individuals and couples with many aspects of their sexual life. I have published The Recipe for Ecstasy What Women Want: Sexual and Relationship Satisfaction and The Recipe for Ecstasy The Couples' Guide to Intimacy and Pleasure. These books are written for the average person who is trying to improve the quality of their relationships.

I believe therapy provides a "safe place" to let ones guard down without ever having to feel judged especially in today's world. Positive growth and change is always possible when we are appreciated and empowered. I like to keep the office environment very casual, open, and inviting so you feel free to open up and truly be seen as the individual and human that you are!

We will identify triggers which limit your progress and lead to negative self-talk and other cognitive distortions that lead to anxiety and depression. We will develop coping strategies that will help root you in the present, practice better self-care, and help to establish healthier boundaries in your life.
