I see each individual as one-of-a-kind and use that mentality to tailor a unique treatment plan created just for you. I am currently seeing clients via telehealth, and I am happy to set up a free 15 minute consultation.

Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable in unfamiliar settings can be both terrifying and exciting, depending on the situation and our own unique perspectives. Entering into a counseling relationship is one setting that may be frightening at first, but can be empowering just by scheduling your first appointment. I Believe there are reasons for all human behavior. Over time, unhealthy tendencies in our behaviors and communication become normal; they were learned during childhood and used to help us cope during difficult times. While these "norms" are difficult to change, having an awareness is often the first step toward positive change.

Healing depression and anxiety, along with other struggles that often times accompany depression and anxiety; such as, relationship issues, sadness, shame, loneliness, people pleasing/appeasing, emotional flooding/numbing, fatigue, stress, grief/loss, nervous system dysregulation, dissociation and/or unresolved trauma.
Are you feeling depleted, depressed? Overwhelmed, anxious? Or, dissatisfied with your relationships? And longing for more relational connection and love? Do you feel overstressed, overworked and unappreciated? Struggling with not feeling good enough, no matter how hard you try? If you answered "Yes" to any or all of the above, you are not alone. Individuals often enter therapy because they are struggling with these types of concerns. We all thrive and heal best in an environment in which we feel emotionally safe, nurtured, listened to and accepted. I value creating these healing qualities within our therapeutic relationship and work together.

If you're struggling in a relationship, with a particular issue, or just don't feel like yourself anymore, therapy may be right for you. Here you'll find a relaxed and empathetic environment where you can safely identify and explore those issues that may be getting in the way of you experiencing a more fulfilling life or relationship. My goal is to not merely treat the symptom, but help you understand the underlying cause of it. So for instance, not just minimize the behavioral display of anger, anxiety or depression, or whatever the concern is, but help you understand why you're so prone to experiencing it. The result is that you'll become much more empowered to live and feel the way you want. And, you'll inevitably become more confident in dealing with your present concerns in a way that will make lasting positive change.

Through a psychodynamic approach, I guide you in uncovering the answers to your suffering individually and/or in your relationship, helping to bring about a sense of ease and vitality.
As the owner of Collective Mind, I specialize in Psychoanalytic therapy, drawing on my Doctorate level training from the Chicago Institute of Clinical Social Work Psychodynamic studies. My approach is modern and accessible, tailored to adults, teens, and couples seeking deeper, more meaningful therapy. Many clients come to me after finding other therapies too surface-level or lacking in impact. I believe that effective psychotherapy involves uncovering lost or hidden parts of ourselves is a process that demands deep intervention. Finding a therapist who offers a safe, non-assuming space is key to truly uncovering the unconscious.

In beginning a therapy, I first try to create an environment that is non-judgmental and accepting. Comfort and trust are indispensable for developing a strong working relationship in psychotherapy. During the course of therapy, I try to help identify and explore problem areas at face value at the time they are presented. I also stay attuned to dimensions of personal struggles that are not readily apparent.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
