I've had past experience in a variety of outpatient clinics as a medical social worker as well as in the nonprofit sector providing grief support for families.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I’m so glad you’ve decided to consider taking this first step in pursuing support. I want our sessions together to feel comfortable, safe, and meaningful. While I do my best to tailor therapy sessions to each individuals' goals and preferences, I do hope that over time I can help you learn to give yourself the gift of more self-compassion as you continue to navigate the various seasons of life.

My concentration or specialty is working with adults dealing with family conflicts, relationship/intimacy issues, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, terminal diagnosis, perinatal and post partum issues, and female hormonal issues.
I believe that everyone has their own unique life story to share. When life seems out of control and overwhelming it is very important to have a safe and confidential space to talk with a professional. Anxiety, depression and obsessive thought patterns can feel very isolating and paralyzing at times. The goal is to feel better and talk through these emotions and thoughts in order to cope effectively. It is so important to take care of your whole self and starting with our mental health is the first step to feeling better.

I offer two broad categories of services. First, I provide onsite grief or critical incident support in the workplace. Employers or EAPs request that I come to the workplace to provide immediate emotional first aid after there has been a crisis or disruption affecting employees. The types of workplace events I often respond to include: Death of a Coworker, Layoffs, Injury, Violence, Robbery, Mass Shootings, and Natural Disasters. I am generally available for onsite employee services within 24-48 hours, and I am able to travel quite a distance to your location.

Due to my life experiences I feel honored to treat a range of situations; grief and loss, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, public speaking fears (I use to hate speaking in front of groups, not now!) self-esteem, guilt, worry, trauma, PTSD, spiritual and metaphysical principles.
Are you feeling out of sorts? Maybe overwhelmed, sad, down, worry too much, hurt too much, and don’t know what do to next? Or maybe you are experiencing deep grief and would like some relief from the relentless tears and sadness. Believe me you are not alone. Remembering times in my life when I did not even know what I was feeling, I felt so isolated, lost and confused. I happened to stumble upon a professional that helped me. Someone that I could trust and felt very comfortable with. I was very hesitant to take this step but somehow I did. It was by far the best thing I have ever done for myself. This is why I became a therapist.

Reaching out to a complete stranger to address your worries, traumas, grief, & life changes can feel daunting initially, but it feels less "scary" with someone you trust.
Welcome! Please note I have a waitlist for new clients at this time. Throughout my clinical experience, I've developed a real passion for working with women and fellow therapists. I am honored to work with those who have experienced trauma, grief & loss, pregnancy & fertility issues, and those in the healing/helping professions. Each person's narrative is so unique and important, and I consider it a great privilege to help folks shift their narratives from ones of struggle & hurt to ones of strength & growth.

My practice areas of focus are children and family, life stage transition and pre-marriage, bereavement, and spiritual questioning.
I love working with children and families. I want to have clear communication with guardians while also creating a safe space that allows children to express themselves with a degree of age-appropriate privacy. I work with children to identify their emotions, learn their emotional triggers, and build a toolkit of coping skills. I also work with you as guardian to build plans of action at home and provide psychoeducation that is research backed so that you feel informed and confident in your parenting. I also recognize that as your family grows and changes you may find it helpful to reach out for support for yourself.

I believe that we are all worthy of dignity, respect and love. This does not mean we have not suffered or experienced shame, guilt and loss-for things we have done and things that have been done to us. With you as the guide and me in a support role, I hope we can explore these issues so that healing and peace will occur. On this sometimes difficult and challenging journey, I hope we can get to work together to find resolution and understanding and come to the place where you are empowered to make new and healthier choices. I am currently unable to take on new clients at this time.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
