You deserve to feel understood, listened to, and worthy while healing, building healthy coping skills, regaining positivity and confidence. Therapy is a trusting, respectful, nonjudgemental path forward for yourself. Caring people deserve a compassionate therapist.

If life has taught me anything, its that it is absolutely FULL of unexpected curve balls. Even the best laid plans and protective factors can feel as though they come up short in the face of some pains and heartaches. It is often difficult to know where to turn in these moments, and therapy can be a great outlet and support to help you through.

We can’t erase the past, but we can pave the future. We have a lived experience that either shouldn’t have happened or should have happened, maybe it was an isolated incident, or maybe it was more complex. We carry this burden and it presents as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, substance use issues, or maybe a combination. Just as trauma changes us, we can change how we continue to live our lives moving forward. With a passion for helping individuals navigate the complex journey of healing from traumatic experiences, my goal is to empower clients and foster post-traumatic growth while they begin to reclaim their lives.

My hope is to help those who are in the midst of trauma, or working through depression and/or anxiety. I enjoy helping people find solutions that work for them, and to help people normalize how they are feeling and that it is not 'weird' to feel the way they do, but rather, help to learn healthy ways to express emotions, while also processing them.

Is there something holding you back from living the life you want? Do you feel anxious, depressed, uncertain, fearful or confused as to how to move forward? Do you hope to change an aspect of your life but you don’t know where to start? The journey of therapy can be a powerful tool to help you move through and uncover some of the obstacles that prevent you towards claiming the life you imagined. While I commonly see people struggling with change in their life, anxiety, and navigating their 20's-30s, some other common themes include grief, self-acceptance, relationship concerns, chronic illness, and perinatal mental health concerns.

My belief is that we all have the desire to have our thoughts and feelings heard. As we journey throughout life, it is not uncommon for us to hurdle through obstacles. The good thing is that you do not have to hurdle through them alone. Allow me to provide a safe place for you to express and process your thoughts and emotions. My goal is to assist you in learning how to become empowered and authentic during each session.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
