Honestly, life sometimes deals us a hand we don't think is fair, and it doesn't matter how old we are. This proverbial hand may appear in our infancy, early childhood, teenage years, young adult years, middle age or golden years; and sometimes hand after hand they may last a lifetime. These hands may appear at home, school or work and involve a variety of other systems/institutions: foster care, residential, hospitalization, or correctional, all of which separates families. The optimum outcome it seems would be healing from the trauma; peace, acceptance, some understanding and effective coping skills at last.

Therapy is a deeply personal journey that requires a therapist who is able to adapt, presume competence, and be willing to learn and grow alongside their clients. I utilize neurodivergent-affirming, strengths-based practices to meet folks where they are, develop awareness and self-knowledge, and empower movement toward personal goals. Utilizing psycho-education, experiential methods, play, visual supports, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed practices, I am looking to support clients aged 10-100 who are looking to make positive changes in their lives.

Sometimes you may become overwhelmed due to changes in routine or major events such as a new school, grades, finances, becoming a new parent, losing a loved one, divorce, or conflict in relationships. These life events may lead to anxiety, low self esteem, lack of motivation, and loss of direction. These struggles appear in different ways for each person and lasts for varying amounts of time. However, we can not always recover on our own due to depression, anxiety, past trauma, or other underlying influence.
