It can be difficult to reach out; know that a relationship with the right therapist for you can be eye-opening and healing.
I help adults, couples, and families to finally experience the type of connection and relationships they long for. Many of us can use support in achieving true self-awareness, self-love, and the courage to be authentic; all are required for rich relationships. Through a safe, collaborative environment, I help clients to manage depression & anxiety, process relationship dynamics, heal old wounds, shift their narratives, manage life changes, and feel present. I help couples and families improve communication, improve connection and intimacy, learn how to repair, and work through issues like infidelity, parenting, separation & loss.

If you're struggling in a relationship, with a particular issue, or just don't feel like yourself anymore, therapy may be right for you. Here you'll find a relaxed and empathetic environment where you can safely identify and explore those issues that may be getting in the way of you experiencing a more fulfilling life or relationship. My goal is to not merely treat the symptom, but help you understand the underlying cause of it. So for instance, not just minimize the behavioral display of anger, anxiety or depression, or whatever the concern is, but help you understand why you're so prone to experiencing it. The result is that you'll become much more empowered to live and feel the way you want. And, you'll inevitably become more confident in dealing with your present concerns in a way that will make lasting positive change.

In addition to working with people facing loss, dealing with depression and anxiety, working on relationship issues and also helping clients with more serious and long term mental health, dual diagnosis and characterological issues, I am also interested in adoption, infertility and sexual dysfunction concerns.
I have been in practice for over 40 years and I believe that I am successful in making most clients feel comfortable and listened to. I have extensive training in psychotherapy and my therapeutic approach is practical and supportive; I am active, compassionate and able to engage the client in the therapeutic process. I try to meet the person where they are at and tailor a therapeutic approach that meets their needs. I have found that deep and genuine emotional understanding and insight translates into real and lasting behavioral change.

You dream of a relationship where you can receive the same love, loyalty and respect that you give.
Have you or are you currently experiencing Narcissistic Abuse? As a formerly Victim turned SurThrivHER of NA, I get the horror you are living through right now. One day the guy is the “man of your dreams”, the next, he’s morphed into a lying, cheating, manipulative, demeaning man that you no longer recognize! You are feeling so down, depressed & hopeless that you struggle to even get out of bed in the morning. When you do get out of bed, you wonder what is even the point of living a life like this? You dread another day of walking on eggshells, rage, being told you're ugly, a terrible mom, & called all sorts of disrespectful names.

Sharing our inner world with others may feel overwhelming, but I place emphasis on the safety and sanctity of the therapeutic relationship.
I work with adults and older adolescents experiencing difficulty in navigating life's many challenges and uncertainties. Concerns related to depression, anxiety, relationships, identity, trauma, or loss can impact our emotional well-being and functioning. At times, our ways of coping can create further distress. Through a deeper understanding of ourselves and our patterns, therapy can facilitate change. I recognize each client as a unique individual and appreciate the need to tailor therapeutic experiences to fit your needs. My goal is to promote curiosity, insight, and autonomy, allowing for healthier ways of coping and healing.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
