Oftentimes we find ourselves focused on issues outside of our control, engaged in unhelpful thinking patterns and feeling stuck and unfulfilled in life. We may battle with symptoms of depression and anxiety which seem difficult to manage and often disrupt our daily lives and goals. We may experience relationship problems, self esteem concerns or intrusive thoughts triggered by our past.

I believe in creating a warm and safe place where people can feel comfortable working through their difficulties and emerge with new strength. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families on a wide range of personal and interpersonal issues. Some people have a clear idea of the problem they want to address, and others are simply experiencing too much difficulty and only know that something needs to change. In either case, I explore their individual experiences and perspectives, and what they would like out of the therapeutic process before collaboratively developing the interventions and tools that best meet their needs.

The impact of Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Grief, Divorce, Relational Discord, Substance Use, or other concerns may be winding paths in your life. I desire to support and guide you on your journey to wellness by providing tools to help you along the way. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I also have a certificate as a Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). I am available by appointment, evening hours. I am also available Saturdays.

While individuals move through life transitions and cope with personal challenges, I strive to provide a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental environment. I have a strong history of working with individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and/or loss. Although each individual is different and has different goals, each should feel secure in their environment while discussing their struggles, goals, and direction.

I have been providing therapy since 2016, gaining valuable experience in various settings, including transitional housing, correctional facilities, and home-based environments. My focus has been on supporting individuals facing a wide range of mental health and substance use challenges, with a specialization in treating anxiety, depression, and substance use-related issues.

I enjoy working with youth, teens, and young adults, and athletes who struggle with anxiety, depression, and identity issues. My focus of my practice is meeting you from where you are and driving a client centered approach. I have worked in the role as a behavioral health therapist for the past 6 years working with children, adolescents, and adults.

I am passionate about working with children and adolescents, who have experienced anxiety, depression, self-esteem, school issues, and education and learning disabilities. My goal is to create a safe environment for children to promote the processing of emotions, life challenges, and changes. I will work alongside caregivers to help instill hope, growth, and healing using an evidence-based approach. I work best with individuals who process emotions through play as well as parents working to help their children through what they are experiencing.

I believe that most situations can be improved by looking at how an individual processes information. I help my clients to look at how their thoughts and perceptions can influence how they react to situations, how this may have an impact on the physical symptoms they feel and affect their overall emotion.

It is my honor to be able to work with you and my greatest hope is to see you flourish. I bring a Masters in social work with an undergrad in psychology, 7 years as a clinical therapist, and 14 years as a psychiatric inpatient technician that has allowed for an extended understanding of family, residential, school, and legal systems. With this experience, I strive to provide a rounded, more holistic approach in sessions with specialties in the areas of crisis management (including skill building and integration), ADHD, depression, anxiety, faith-based counseling and mindfulness, and self-harm.

My focus is supporting children, youth, adults & families with behavior and thought changes for those experiencing sadness, anger, irritability, nervousness, lack of motivation, sleeping to much or to little, negative thoughts/feelings, anxiety, depression, traumatic events, family dysfunction, and parenting challenges. Together, we will assess your needs and use your strengths to build a therapeutic approach that works for you. I use a variety of interventions and will work to understand what you need and find what fits you. Sessions can take place in person at my Muskegon office or teletherapy throughout Michigan.
