I have been working in the field of Social Work/Mental Health since 2011. I am passionate about supporting individuals in learning about and processing through the ways life experiences and traumas have impacted them. I find that often times (not always) people develop symptoms related to anxiety, depression, anger & other behavioral issues because of how they have learned to respond to and survive through traumas and adverse life experiences.

The path you have been walking may be worn down, peace, clarity, joy, and fulfillment feel distant, the storms of anxiety, depression, and trauma have become overwhelming. You don't have to travel through the storm alone. It is in caring relationships that healing sparks and growth endures. In therapy, a healing relationship starts when a safe space blossoms. In this safe space, I work with you to find the healing path you will step into.

Congratulations on taking this brave step! Thinking about going to therapy can be intimidating and feel out of reach, but this is a space for everyone to grow. In therapy, we share a safe, confidential, and open space to process emotions (and learn how to!), to understand how to cope with all of life’s past and present experiences, and to explore how to reach a thriving life. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by stress, weighed down with depression, or struggling with changes in life, this is a space for you. If you’re looking to improve relationships, build healthy boundaries, or simply live more in the moment, this is a space for you

As a therapist over the last 5 years, I have learned that connection, safety, and trust are the most important ingredients that can determine positive outcomes for trauma treatment. I have experience with neurodivergent individuals with a wide array of trauma wounds. These wounds create a powerful story about why these distressing events happened to us. When these wounds are left unattended, or avoided, over time, we may develop very complex chapters of this story. This can make it very hard to separate who we really are from the distorted perception trauma creates. These events can cause us to disconnect and lose ourselves.

Depression and anxiety can take a toll on our lives. They can rob us of joy and make it difficult to participate in life. Constant worry and dread are common companions of anxiety. It feels like you are caught in a loop of thoughts. You don’t know how to get out, and it is hard to breathe. Worries and fears hold you captive. You have lost friends, opportunities and maybe even jobs because you couldn’t find your way through. You feel out of control, but you often keep your feelings hidden. You might put on a smile to please others, but happiness only exists on the surface. If you can relate, take a deep breath. There is hope.

I have worked in the mental health field since 2019 and have a strong background in assessment as well as DBT and CBT focuses. I primarily work with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, bipolar, and BPD. For me, the focus of behavioral health treatment is balancing between acceptance and change - working hard together to embrace the things we cannot control, and problem-solve the things that we can. In addition to processing, cognitive reframing, and challenging thoughts, I place a strong value in skills-based psycho-education. So if you are looking to enhance your tool-belt of coping skills, I may be the right fit for you!
