I believe that therapy is an important tool for lasting change and, to be most helpful, it should be tailored to a client's individual needs. I graduated in 2008 with my Master's Degree in Counseling from Wayne State University, with a concentration in School and Community Counseling. I have experience working with children, adults, and families through grief, adoption, blending families, divorce, depression, anxiety, and other disorders. I have a strong desire and passion to work provide support and tools for my clients and families in a brave space.

I hold a master degree in social work from Wayne State University. I am passionate about my role and calling to provide Christian and Psychological counseling to children and adults. I am a calm and warm individual who is focused on treating the whole person. I have over 15 years of experience working with children and adults in the Detroit Metro area and suburbs.

Due to my variety of professional and relatable life experiences I value the privilege to work collaboratively with children, adolescents and adults to attain successful outcomes in areas of life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, anger management, and domestic violence. Meeting the client where they are at is an excellent starting point within the all-important therapeutic alliance.

As a person passionate about helping others, I seek to assist individuals, couples, and families in working through issues to achieve greater mental health. These can be issues of communication, parenting, anxiety, depression, trauma, or other struggles. By addressing these themes in a safe, caring, and open environment, individuals, couples, and families can learn skills to manage and decrease symptoms while increasing life satisfaction. Therapy is a safe space of self-exploration and building awareness of what is holding you back from leading a more fulfilling life: whether you have suffered a recent loss and trauma(s), are suffering with painful emotions or having trouble coping with a life transition etc. My areas of specializing in a wide range of issues including, PTSD, anxiety disorders, self-esteem, obsessive-compulsive disorders, grief and loss and depression.

I provide guidance and support to teens and young adults who are struggling with various life transitions such as processing family conflict, transition from high school to college, perfectionism, anxiety, student athletes who are struggling with time management, young adults and adults struggling with depression or anxiety, and adjusting to life after college. An important part of the therapy process is learning how to find balance, organize your thoughts and learn about what has shaped the story you've been telling yourself.

I believe therapy provides a "safe place" to let ones guard down without ever having to feel judged especially in today's world. Positive growth and change is always possible when we are appreciated and empowered. I like to keep the office environment very casual, open, and inviting so you feel free to open up and truly be seen as the individual and human that you are!

I am a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Certified Advanced Schema Therapist and an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist holding over 12 years of experience working with substance related problems and mental health challenges. I understand the courage it takes to make this first step in seeking help and hope to make it a beneficial and life changing event. I provide a compassionate and comfortable environment and use a variety of therapy techniques to educate and build on your skills and strengths.

I really understand how uncomfortable anxiety, worry, sadness and depression can make you feel. I am one of those who can help. I have over 40 years experience helping people feel better and feel better quicker. I have an additional expertise in the treatment of mild to moderate forms of OCD (ie, OCD that can be effectively handled in weekly therapy; more severe forms of OCD require a different practice than I conduct).
