Relationships can be hard. You can love someone and still have destructive patterns of communication. I want to help each person learn new and better ways to communicate. Sometimes, we just need to be heard by someone. I want to hear from each client by listening deeply to what they are saying. I have worked with many couples and individuals over the years to build stronger relationships and happier lives.

I truly care about my clients and will provide a confidential, empathic, and non-judgmental environment. My ideal client might be in distress and simply in need of relief or someone who wants to investigate themselves and grow through the process. My ideal client might not be sure if therapy will help. I would try a variety of strategies to show you that it can. I have had challenges in life and I have received help from many people along the way. I believe that we should receive help when we need it and help others when we are able to do so. I look forward to collaborating in our work together!

The therapist is present to support and walk alongside the client on their path to well-being. I believe that people have the solutions to their problems and challenges within themselves and the therapist’s job is to help excavate what is buried within.

You deserve to live a life that leaves you excited to wake up every morning. I believe one of the bravest things you can do to achieve that is to understand your own story. You deserve to be free from emotional pain as well as finding your purpose and meaning in your life. I will walk right next to you to help lift heavy weights and burdens from your shoulders. You do not have to walk this journey alone.

Therapy is not a one-sided conversation; in fact it is an interaction with another person for real discovery and wellness. I can promise you I am as real as it gets. I want to help you achieve the changes you are looking for as well as see you discover the new you. I do not believe growth and discovery have to always be an uncomfortable experience. Reaching out to a therapist can be intimidating, but I hope you will take a moment and maybe a few deep breaths to call and see how I can help.

I specialize in working with individuals facing life stressors including anxiety, grief, PTSD, chronic medical illness, trauma, and depression. I believe therapy is a process and a journey. We will walk together on this journey and work to process thoughts, emotions and learn new ways of responding to life’s challenges. When we embrace our ability to feel and experience hard things, we learn self-love, empathy, and peace. I enjoy working with clients and developing a relationship by actively listening, advocating, and assisting in change through evidence based practices while providing a safe space for healing and growth.

Flipping through the latest Netflix releases, you search endlessly for the next "binge-worthy" series to numb you out for the rest of the weekend. This has been your default for far too long. You know all of the things you are “supposed” to be doing. You’ve tried all the self-help tricks, but you feel stuck in your head and unable to move forward in your life. You’ve had glimmers of the life you want before, but it always seems just out of reach.

I've had the opportunity to counsel individuals struggling with anxiety and depression as well as behavioral concerns. The goal of therapy is to provide my client with what they're needing most, a reduction in anxious symptoms for example while collaborating on how they might function in society without barriers. I also complete comprehensive psychological evaluations for concerns with anxiety, depression, ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and Autism. Although each client is different and their needs unique, each assessment's goal is to help answer the presenting question.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy, trauma-informed practices, ADHD evaluations and working with people who are on the autism spectrum are some of the areas in which I specialize.
People who choose therapy to heal are cycle breakers. They have decided enough is enough, and have found strength to seek help. It is such an honor to be able to help others discover themselves, unlocking mysteries and learning new strategies to live their best lives and becoming the best version of themselves. ADHD, trauma, grief, life transitions such as divorce or starting a new career, breaking unhealthy habits or cycles created by family through past generations are some examples of what I enjoy working on with clients. The list is endless, and bottom line, if you are ready to dive in, I'm ready for you!

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
