Marissa Havard is a Licensed Master Social Worker in Michigan who has been practicing since 2019. Marissa is a very energetic person who loves to get to know people. I have interdisciplinary work experiences, including work in a stepdown Psychiatric Hospital, Oncology, Palliative Care, Primary Care, Rehabilitation Center, Psychological Research Administrator/ Psychometrist work, Developmental Disabilities, and Private Practice. I also have experience in crisis interventions, behavioral health interventions, and ABA Therapy. Additionally, the particular value I took from these experiences was to increase resiliency and work towards managing symptoms and making them more tolerable.

Greetings and thanks for taking the time to visit my profile. I have many years of experience working in the Human Services field. I have counseled individuals with developmental disabilities and those without. Specifically, with goal planning, vocational counseling, job development and disability management. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (since 1996) I have a Masters of Arts degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Michigan State University. I retired in 2015 after 21 years as Senior Vocational Counselor at Community Mental Health here in Lansing, Michigan.

I provide compassionate and professional counseling services to my clients. I help individuals, children, couples and families on a variety of issues. If you need help with Trauma, relationships, addictions or just every day life issues I’m here for you. I have helped men , women and children. I use multiple theories in my office practice and over telehealth. We will use the approach that will help you the most, whether it be Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma focused Therapy or just being present and reflecting while listening to your story. We will learn to manage life‘s issues together.

Amy Harris has a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University. She began her career as a home-based therapist working with children, adolescents, and families. However, she specializes in treating individuals 18+ with anxiety, depression, and trauma. She strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for those to be their authentic self. She believes every person is unique and tailors her approach to help individuals heal in their own way. In her free time, Amy enjoys playing the piano, travelling, camping, and spending time with her family and friends.

I tell everyone they need counseling. Some have that trusted friend that they can turn to, others have Facebook (not highly recommended), and then there are those that need someone with some training. I, like many, have been in that situation before and I am not ashamed to say it. As I sat in the chair of my counseling session many years ago, I was complaining about how I disliked my job and my counselor said "well you have options" and it was in that moment that I realized that I needed a job change. It was out of that session that NYA Counseling was born.

I am a Christian counselor. I love working with Moms on anxiety, depression, parenting, self esteem, life transitions, and relationship issues. Being a Mom is a wonderful calling that requires ALL of you. It can be so draining and lonely. You don't have to keep walking alone. Sara Ziel, LMSW takes pride in providing a judgement free and comfortable environment for her clients. Therapy takes a lot of trust, and Sara focuses time on building and cultivating rapport with each of her clients. Sara earned her bachelor's degree from Alma College, and her master's degree from Grand Valley State University. Sara has over 6 years of experience, and has worked in many settings, including home-based therapy, case management, family therapy and outpatient therapy.

I have over a decade of experience working with children and their families. Much of that work has been with children who have confusing and/or challenging behaviors, as well as children who are neurodiverse. I am passionate about meeting the unique needs of children who have experienced trauma, as well as the caregivers who are helping them heal. It can be isolating to be a parent of a child with baffling behaviors and/or neurodiversity and you need a place you can come to be accepted as you are.

Krista Stevens has been working in the helping profession of micro and macro practice for over 15 years. She is a fully licensed Master level therapist with a degree in clinical social work from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oakland University. Krista brings professional background and lived perspective from her work in child welfare since 2011. In the clinical setting she specializes in walking alongside children and their care takers, young adults, and women in their 30's through a trauma informed lens. She is currently focused on work with clients between 6 to 39 years of age.

My approach to mental health is to explore social and emotional functioning by assessing current obstacles and working with individuals to help rule out possible organic medical conditions that could present as mental health challenges.

I often build trust and rapport quickly, while instilling hope and optimism. Therapy is performed both in person and tele therapeutically, helping to ameliorate symptoms and improve overall functioning in those that I serve. In addition to individual therapy, I really enjoy and have found success in performing couples counseling/family therapy and often have evening hours that make it easier for both partners/children to get into therapy consistently. For years, clients have felt relaxed and heard in the sessions, making continuing therapy seamless for many. Scheduling is easy, at your leisure, via a portal when you are ready.

All clients have the potential for change. I work to empower clients to recognize that, and to assist them with taking control of their own narrative. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Central Michigan University and my Master of Social Work from Michigan State University. I have experience working with clients ages 18 and up. My therapeutic experience includes positions as a medical social worker in a long-term care setting. I helped my residents achieve and maintain emotional and mental well-being.
