Whether you are working through anxiety, depression, identity crisis, trauma, grief, relationships or heartache; I would love to listen to your story and help you discover new ways to grow.
All of our stories are different. We have parts of our stories that are bright and beautiful, but we also have parts of our stories that are dark and painful. We may not have been able to control the things that have happened in our story but we can control how we respond and how we move forward. We all struggle to navigate through this life. This life is confusing and stressful. I recognize that you are the expert of your life, you know yourself best. I aim to come alongside you not only through the warm seasons but most importantly the dark cold ones we often find ourselves in.

At the Trauma and Attachment Center, we focus on helping people process their traumas and strengthen their attachments. We are a small group of clinicians with a passion for helping and making people feel welcome. Waitlist for new clients
I have over 15 years of experience helping people explore their stories of trauma, and the impact it has on their life and relationships.
Whatever brought you here, welcome. Often, people seek help because they have a sense that all is not well, even if they don’t have language to explain what they feel or why. I believe that honoring this knowing is one of the bravest things we can do and is an essential step in recovering a sense of well-being. I consider it a privilege to join with clients to explore the beliefs, hopes, fears, and struggles that are all part of what it means to be human. I draw from trauma-focused, relational, narrative, and mindfulness-based approaches, and prioritize creating a safe, compassionate, therapeutic relationship.

I take a deep dive into Negative Core Beliefs & the formative experiences behind them as well as how they impact the client - whether struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression or behavioral addictions.
I work with individuals fifteen years of age and older to overcome issues of mood disorders, like depression and anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, behavioral addictions as well as difficult life transitions. The greatest need clients often face is to gain a clear perspective and solid goals to address their struggles. My primary goal is to help my clients reach a point of no longer needing therapy, by getting to the root of the challenges, giving practical tools they can use every day to maintain a mentally healthy life. I am also a clinical supervisor, providing clinical supervision to Limited Licensed Professional Counselors.

Trauma and grief can mess with your daily functioning, your ability to feel emotions, and your relationships with others.
My specialty is in treating sexual abuse, anxiety, trauma and PTSD effectively and efficiently. I'm trained in 3 evidence-based (validated by research) therapies for treating PTSD, and my goal is to help you find healing without wasting your time or money. During your first appointments, we'll determine the best plan for your therapy. Some approaches emphasize talking, while others have very little talking. Some use creative elements and story, while others work directly to treat your brain and nervous system. I also provide general counseling for depression, anxiety, and relationships.

Working through challenging chapters of our story can lead us to question the understanding we have of ourselves and our place in the world, making our grasp on hope feel messy and tenuous. As a counselor, I will step into your story gently and walk alongside, as you pick up the broken pieces, examine them, and explore paths toward hope and healing. I specialize in working with older teens and adults working through stress, anxiety, relational challenges, and parenting concerns. I also have experience working with clients facing abuse and trauma history, mood disorders, and post-partum depression.

My other specialities include: Communication, Self-Esteem, Healthy Boundaries, Stress Management/Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Identity Exploration, Spirituality, grief, and trauma (EMDR).
Hello! I view each person (or couple) as unique and autonomous. I believe everyone has a story of where they have been, where they are, and where they are hoping to go. These stories are complex and I believe everyone has biological, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. I like to work with clients to understand how they can get those met in healthy ways and how they can navigate this journey we call life. I also enjoy setting goals with my clients. It's through setting and achieving goals, that you will feel you're getting the most out of our time together.

Areas that I have had significant experience in my career thus far include trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, adjustment in clients of all ages, parenting stress and strategies, educator burn out prevention and support, and athlete mental health.
Beginning therapy means different things to different people, but it is often an action of courage, hope, self- care, and self-determination. If this is your first experience with therapy, you might feel a bit nervous or apprehensive. That is normal! I value the importance of highlighting and exploring the unique strengths and resilience in each individual to help encourage hope, confidence, healing, and growth.

I draw from numerous evidence based practices that focus on attachment, mindfulness, understanding our mind/body connection and also the impact that trauma has on our overall wellbeing.
It is always a privilege to walk alongside someone on their journey of healing and growth and to be able to hold space for them where they can feel seen, heard and valued. Whether you come with symptoms of anxiety or depression, or have experienced a traumatic event that needs a safe place to be processed, our time together can provide a means of care and support as you find your way forward. I believe that healing takes place within authentic, honest relationships where we are reminded that we are never alone. I also believe that it's possible to live a full and meaningful life, even in the midst of pain and suffering.

I enjoy walking alongside young adults (roughly age 17-29) and women under 40 to address concerns related to depression, grief/loss, anxiety, stress, trauma (specialty area), life transitions, and self-esteem.
I know how intimidating it can be to make your first therapy appointment. It takes a lot of strength and courage to take that first step! Whether we decide together to focus on identity, relationships, family, work, or faith, this is a safe space. Maybe you are here looking at therapy as a “last resort” effort after trying to figure out things alone. If you’ve found yourself feeling stuck, frustrated, or wondering, “What’s wrong with me?!”, you’re not alone. No matter what is going on with you, this is a safe space. If you aren't sure yet, that's ok-book a free 15 minute call or email me and see if we would be a good fit!

My ideal client would be a child or teen, but can do adults if needed! Their issues could span a variety of areas. Coping with trauma, self-esteem issues, eating disorders and behavioral disorders are just a few areas of issues I can address. Their needs and goals may vary but adjusting to life situations, learning coping strategies and recognizing themselves as worthwhile people would be my goals.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
