The treatment modalities I use are cognitive and behavioral, solution-focused, mindfulness, motivational enhancement, narrative, somatic, and psychodynamic.
**Update: In-office appointments are now available** We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are" ~Anaïs Nin... Anybody can get stuck. We all have blind spots and darkness, but we don't have to live there. The first step is asking for help. I believe that we're wired for love and belonging, for connection, but that as a culture we've never been more disconnected: from ourselves, from our lives, and from each other. And in disconnection we shut down. Asking for help isn't weakness, it's an acknowledgement that we just need some relief.

If you're done repeating the same things, and ready to see real change in your life, I'd love to meet you! My trauma-conscious and life affirming approach integrates creative expression, somatic therapy, holistic healing, and storytelling to help you emotionally heal, cultivate meaningful relationships, and Live With JOY.
Is your "stuff" blocking your JOY??? I help professional women and men who despite having it all together on the outside, are struggling on the inside. Because as smart, bold, and fabulous as you may be, sometimes our "stuff" gets in the way of us living, loving, and working with JOY. Maybe you are struggling in a complicated relationship, be it with a friend, family, or lover? Or feeling like you have no purpose in life or aren't living abundantly? Or maybe you are dealing with emotional baggage that just won't go away.

I conduct a detailed integrative assessment using a holistic approach that includes sleep hygiene, exercise regimen, somatic therapies, relaxation techniques, nutritional protocols, and psychotherapy.
Wellness = the state of being in good health, especially as an actively pursued goal. My ideal client is one that energizes my passion for integrative health. Many of those I have worked with have complex issues that are open to exploring the many layers of treatment that include assessing the mind, body and soul. I firmly believe that you can not get to your best personal level of healthy living without practicing an intersection of practices. Using a body-based and holistic approach, I see myself as a companion on the journey with individuals to building stronger self-awareness, personal growth and wellness.

I practice somatic therapy which involves helping clients pay attention to their physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts, and using those cues to promote healing and growth.
Do you feel like you can’t escape harmful patterns, are spinning in anxiety, or unable to find real joy? Are you struggling to understand why you can’t create the change you want to see in your life? For many of us, the root of our most difficult feelings and harmful patterns are emotional wounds we still harbor deep inside. The process of uncovering and learning about our personal histories can help us move through the pains that are buried within us, and towards the life you want.

I love to empower women who have been through all types of life circumstances. I work with all types of circumstances, whether they be relational issues, trauma, systemic difficulties or anything else. I am here for it. You've probably read a lot of profiles and seen similar ideas such as moving from surviving to thriving in your life. I don't shy away from deep topics, horrific trauma, unimaginable pain. If you are looking for an authentic therapist who is deeply empathic and can be "real" at the same time, then let's work together.

You are so tired of feeling anxious, stressed, and discouraged all the time. Your life looks good from the outside, but deep down you are struggling with all the worries and stress of your life, and your thoughts are out of control. You’re someone who is worried when you are around other people, even when you’re by yourself, feeling hopeless, and afraid that you will feel like this forever. You’ve tried to brush it off and start over. But you’re ready to make a change. You’re ready to stop worrying. You’re ready to feel more motivated. Most of all, you’re ready to feel happy and positive again! I want to help you get there.

I provide psychodynamic, somatic, and emotion-focused therapy for those dealing with anxiety and perfectionism.
I’m not doing enough. I’m behind. I’m almost (or already) in my thirties and I don’t have X, Y, or Z. Everyone thinks I’m doing great except me. I don’t know if I’ll ever reach the potential I see for myself. It feels like too much. Are these thoughts playing on a loop in your head? You might be dealing with maladaptive perfectionism and anxiety. You may be putting WAY too much pressure on yourself. Somewhere in your personal narrative lies the reason why you are applying so much pressure. Together, we can explore the past experiences and lessons that influence and shape your patterns and choices today.

My therapy practice is grounded in creating a safe space in which to build the rapport and trust needed to engage in mindfulness, breath work, and various somatic techniques for quieting the mind, connecting to the body, and processing trauma.
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, lacking energy, or not feeling present in your body or the world? If so, welcome to being human. But seriously, it's completely understandable to be experiencing some or all of these symptoms while existing in this patriarchal, white-supremacist and capitalist country. It is not our fault that traumatic things have happened to us. We cannot undo what has been done, but we can learn, practice, and embody new ways of being. We will heal as an act of resistance! I feel honored to do this work, and I am here to support you on your healing journey.

I am trained in somatic therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma.
You question if you are the problem or if you’re at fault for the issues in your life or what happened to you. From the moment you wake, your thoughts are racing, and through much of the day, you’re plagued with flashes of intrusive memories. The constant overwhelm causes you to struggle constantly, and it feels like peace is impossible. A voice in your head tells you to “feel your feelings,” but how do you do that without spiraling? On top of your inner chaos, the people in your life walk all over you without a care. You have been hearing a lot of talk of “setting boundaries,” but worry about pushing people away.

Strategies I draw from in my practice include Somatic Trauma Therapies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness strategies.
You’ve been living by everyone else’s needs instead of your own. You want to stop abandoning yourself, but everyone else is relying on you, and you can’t let them down. You attempt to prioritize your wellbeing, but every time you plan to do something for yourself, you feel a pervasive sense of guilt. Knowing you’re everyone’s go-to counselor and cheerleader provides temporary relief from the profound feelings of worthlessness that plague you. While you’re dedicated to the happiness of others, the true reason for your incredible care is that you’re terrified of being alone and disappointing others.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
