Life has a way of happening to us sometimes, and we realize we might need support, but fear stops us from taking the next step forward. I like to take time to get to know each person and build a relationship with them that conveys trust, respect, and understanding. My goal as a therapist has been to be a support for individuals and walk with people in their journey to become the best versions of themselves. If I am your therapist, you can expect to be met with empathy, support, respect, and understanding. When anyone comes through my door, they can expect not to be judged or shamed for any of their history or previous experiences.

I am skillful and adept at helping people identify what they want to work on, and assisting in the development of a plan that makes sense to them. I work with them to determine what is the proper balance of education, information, accountability, support, and guidance to assure positive results for them. I have extensive experience working with members of the legal profession, health care professionals, students, military personnel and their families, but I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life. I am trained and experienced at assisting employers and families to intervene on individuals with substance use disorders.

Experiences can shape who we are as individuals. Sometimes our experiences are wonderful and create great memories. However, as we navigate our lives, past traumas or other unexpected experiences may affect how we progress toward a healthy and satisfying life. These experiences may be overwhelming and difficult, sometimes causing you to feel depressed, anxious, or even detached from yourself and others. When these difficulties arise, you may need guidance navigating towards healing so that you can experience a healthy, satisfying life. It is my goal to work with clients so that they can reach their optimal capacity.

Asking for help can be hard. Working through basic life issues can be hard too. But working through them with someone you trust can shed a little hope on life’s more difficult days. The amount of people seeking mental health services has been steadily increasing as the stigma surrounding asking for help slowly fades away. There is no shame in asking for help; it could change your life for the better.

As a therapist, I understand that it can take time to develop a relationship and open up to a stranger about personal life and history. My goal is to work with each person to create a trusting relationship that allows each individual to be heard and respected. I value looking at each client's individual and unique strengths to help them find creative strategies that best fit their needs and lifestyles so that they can be successful in both their short-term and long-term goals.

Our lives can be chaotic and we all need support to make sense of the chaos. Challenges in life can be opportunities for growth, and that growth is tough work to do alone. Whether that chaos manifests itself in a battle with depression or anxiety, challenges in a relationship, or navigating life following a transition, loss, or diagnoses, hope and healing are possible.

Finding the right therapist can be really difficult. One of the biggest barriers to starting therapy may simply be that you don’t know what to expect. My goal as a therapist is to provide you with complete transparency as we work together to reach your goals. My role in our relationship is to support you as you process, grow, and heal. As a therapist, I work to empower and support all types of people to live as authentically as possible.

I am a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW) and have worked in the mental health field for over 14 years. This has allowed me a wide variety of experiences working alongside many different clients in inpatient, residential, partial and outpatient settings. I use a biopsychosocial approach to counseling which focuses on the “whole-health” of a person including biological, psychological and social factors, as they all play a significant role in human functioning. I prefer to work from a strengths based perspective which focuses on your internal strengths and resourcefulness as opposed to weaknesses and failures.

One of the things I love most about my psychotherapy work is that each individual is so unique and vastly different, and my approach to working with each person is tailored specifically to them as we collaborate to create specialized goals. I encourage my clients to join me in a shared curiosity about who they are, what experiences and relationships have helped form them, and what makes them feel like the best version of themselves. I understand that trust between a therapist and client is earned through nonjudgmental, open, and thoughtful questions and discussions. I hope to provide a safe space for personal growth to unfold.

A few daytime openings are available! It's so hard on our bodies and minds to be pregnant, give birth or endure loss yet we're expected to carry on with our lives like usual. People that haven't experienced the physical complications and distressing symptoms can't relate. Talking about our "stuff" is uncomfortable because we often feel shame or guilt as we think we should be grateful or we're not feeling good enough. Pregnancy and postpartum is unlike any other journey; sharing our bodies with another human is hard, being a new mom is hard, loss/change is hard! Remember, you are not alone and with help you can be well.

I want to be there for you in the places that so often feel isolating. It's important to me that you have a place in the therapy relationship where you don't have to be 'fine.' My hope for our work together is that your distressing and overwhelming experiences can be connected to your life without fully overwhelming the rest of your life.

Do you long to experience change in your life? Maybe you're feeling defeated in life, seeking freedom from a shaming voice inside, longing for greater connection in relationships, or facing a significant transition or loss. Whatever you're experiencing, I believe there is no cookie cutter approach to addressing the complex problems of life. I view psychotherapy as a coming alongside journey that creates an open, safe space where you as a whole person and the particulars of your story (including those places where you feel most stuck) can be explored, understood, and worked through to cultivate hope and transformation.

**offering tele therapy*** When a client comes to his/her first session, I often share that they have done the hardest part: to make that initial call and to show up. From there, I look at it as my responsibility to help one feel safe sharing feelings/experiences so that they improve how they currently feel and create the life they want to get excited about living in the future. My approach is direct, simple, empathetic and effective. I have more than 20 years of experience providing therapy to adults and adolescents who are facing significant challenges/crisis' as well as those who are seeking personal growth.
