She uses a dynamic clinical approach including IFS, CBT, mindfulness, CPT, intuitive eating, as well as emotion-focused therapy to help her clients.
Life is often stressful and living with chronic illness only makes life more challenging. Having a therapist who also understands the mental and emotional side of chronic illness can be really helpful. I also have years of experience understanding trauma and incorporate a dynamic approach into my work.

As a somatic & IFS informed therapist, I teach practical skills to help you face & release trapped stress & emotions from your body, so you can begin to love all parts of yourself.
I believe the ability to heal already exists in you, waiting to be uncovered from beneath past protective patterns that no longer serve you. Maybe you're successful & functioning on the outside, but inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Your mind overthinks & your body is tense. From past trauma or current stress, part of you feels broken, not enough, unworthy, or unlovable. You already know this shame, but aren't aware of other parts of you. Those that know how to rest, relax, self-care, balance emotions, & love yourself. You hope you can befriend your own mind, body, & spirit as allies instead of enemies.

As a Certified IFS Clinician, I specialize in providing IFS therapy to women and often work with helping professionals and parents.
Are you a mom or helping professional feeling burned out? Have you found talk therapy helpful but want to try something new? Have you heard about Internal Family Systems (IFS) and want to experience the model? IFS has been described as “what I hoped therapy would be” because it's genuinely compassionate and non-pathologizing. Instead of trying to force change, IFS facilitates organic transformation through a process of connecting with thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I've enjoyed working with clients from all over the mitten thanks to the accessibility telehealth offers.

EMPWR's mission is to redefine therapy; we believe in getting to the root of issues for long-term relief instead of teaching coping skills for long-term maintenance by using EMDR and IFS.
Others consider you a successful woman, but you feel like you’re a mess. The idea of being vulnerable is paralyzing and voicing your needs is a terrifying concept. You’re consumed with guilt and shame. You fear hurting people’s feelings and tend to take care of those around you, even though you might not want to. Your relationships are struggling. You crave a deeper connection but don’t know how to get there. You’re overwhelmed, exhausted, and resentful trying to keep everyone happy. You’re trying your hardest to put on a good face for others, but you feel like things are falling apart. You're ready for real, lasting change.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and influenced by depth psychology, IFS parts work and mindfulness.
My imagination is captivated by how intricate and interconnected our stories are with the world around us, both in our intimate relationships and in the culture and society in which we live. Oftentimes these stories can weave patterns of disconnection between oneself and others, leaving us feeling stuck, and in need of care and tending. In my work, I offer a heartfelt and empathic space to explore your experience in the world. I’m currently focusing on premarital counseling and helping couples develop deeper connection through their communication.

I also work with clients in search of psychedelic integration support via IFS.
I work with clients from all backgrounds, religions, gender identity, and sexual orientation. I believe that as we move through life we encounter moments that cause us to adapt; whether from trauma, unmet expectations, humiliation, lack of nurturing, societal pressure, or our role within our family. We cultivate these adaptations and carry them with us, applying them to new parts of life where they may no longer be needed. If we learn to meet ourselves with compassion, gratitude, and curiosity, getting to know the parts of us that work so diligently to protect us, we can begin to uncover and heal the deeper wounds that they shield.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
