I work with individuals, couples and families as they navigate a variety of life complexities. My practice is a safe and practical place to process the past and explore your future. Perhaps, you’re coping with a particular problem or feeling stuck in long-term patterns of dysfunction and individual therapy sounds like a great fit. Or maybe, you're hoping to renew hope in the relationships you treasure most via couples or family therapy where you will learn to improve communication, cultivate boundaries, and mend any past or present wounds to ensure the healing and sustainability of the relationships that matter most.

Client diversity is my favorite part of being a therapist. I am open to working with anyone, no matter what issues, needs, and goals they bring to our relationship. My ideal client is simply motivated by a desire for change and has a strong commitment to the process of self-discovery. Navigating change requires a measure of courage, and some episodes of self-discovery may be uncomfortable. My ideal client will understand that each new challenge is simply a part of the overall discovery and growth process. Clients who strive to “face the fear and do it anyway” are usually a good fit with me.

I believe that relationships are at the core of any effective therapy. It is important to me that the children and families I work with feel heard and respected. I am flexible in my approaches and how I deliver therapy. This allows me to be able to focus on the strengths of the child and family. I utilize interests, abilities, and passions to provide services that are engaging, comfortable, and impactful. I believe that children, adolescents and young adults thrive best in therapy when they are allowed to express themselves in the way that is most natural for them.

It's difficult when you feel alone, and you are not sure who you can talk to. Especially when you have been hurt in the past, & have felt misunderstood when you tried to communicate how you felt. You want someone who will listen to you without judging or criticizing you and who recognizes everything you have been through. You want to feel seen, heard, valued, and cared for. You're hoping that therapy will help you to build a life that you feel is worth living for. You want every day to feel a little bit easier and to not be in so much pain. I want to help you meet the goals that you have for your life and meet you where you are at.

The clients I work with are usually 6- 21 years of age. I also work with many parents. Parents use this space to process difficult aspects of caregiving, make sense of their own developmental and attachment histories in relation to parenting, and identify new parenting strategies to support their child’s unique needs. Children and adolescents use this space to learn about their brains and bodies, strengthen peer and family relationships, decrease overall stress and develop new coping skills.

I have a deep passion for working with people who've lived lives like mine. In early adulthood, I understood myself as neurodivergent, including my OCD diagnosis. The chance to support others with similar experiences is a privilege. I understand that OCD and anxiety disorders are often stigmatized and shamed, which can make it difficult to share these thoughts in a new therapy space. At NOCD, we are specially trained to create a judgment-free space. We deeply understand all aspects of OCD, whether they are taboo, aggressive, sexual, or violent in nature, and can help you overcome your intrusive thoughts

Let’s be honest. Life gets real sometimes. Things happen and we can wind up feeling stuck, lost, or hopeless. To top it all off, we often feel pressured to put on a brave face and weather the storm. It’s for these reasons that I founded Sunshine Counseling. You deserve a space where you can be yourself, where you don’t have to hide, and where you can safely process life. Truth be told, I named my therapy practice after a mug my friend gave me which sarcastically declares, "I am a ray of freaking sunshine!" This cheeky little mug actually encapsulates my world view. It is not all sunshine and rainbows. And that's ok.

I enjoy working with clients who are interested in actively working on improving their lives. It's helpful when clients can advocate for themselves to get the best fit for the type of therapeutic support for their needs and goals.

What if you could learn to view difficult emotions as an opportunity for growth instead of a weakness? It’s true that suffering is universal, but with the right perspective you can learn to see that as a gift; a source of energy you can use to propel you towards your life’s goals and eventual contentment. Many seek to find happiness by changing their circumstances, but I hope to show you that accepting your current circumstances is the key to permanent change. My calling is to help you find peace and contentment, specializing in depression and anxiety, addiction, grief, existential concerns and parenting skills.

Are you struggling with day-to-day challenges of life and overwhelmed? Life feels scattered, sad, and stressful. Sharing these difficulties with others is simply impossible. No one seems to really understand, nor do they have the insight or patience to really help. Staying optimistic about things getting better is not working anymore. You've done that for the last several years and you feel stuck. Sleepless nights thinking about reaching goals you believed were possible are now unbearable. Figuring it out on your own is not working, and trying another approach alone feels defeating. Knowing where to turn next brings on anxiety.

Working to resolve anxiety and trauma, especially "stacked trauma". I have a variety of approaches which are frequently useful to people who have had recent or early traumas. Anxiety is a normal reaction to abnormal experience. Our work focuses on bringing up the harmful event, processing it, and laying it to rest.

Growing the life you want We have one life that we get to live, and so we only have one chance to find and create meaning for our lives. So often we can be hindered by our fears and from the painful points of resistance that we have encountered along the way. Those points of struggle look different for each person, and many times can stay with us for a long time. But we can grow and recover, and taking the time to slow down and care for ourselves is a liberating experience.

Sometimes, life feels dark. You wonder when life will feel good again, if it ever will. Maybe it all feels out of control. Nothing has worked so far. Is there hope? Or maybe you feel lost in life. You don't know who you truly are. Others don't know the true you either. You are scared if others knew, they would judge you. You don't know how you got here, to this point. What's next? Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, a relationship that feels like it isn't working anymore, or discontent with life, it feels heavy. Maybe you have felt this has to be your life, that healing is not possible for you.
