I have worked within many different needs including substance use, trauma history, anxiety, depression, managing significant life transitions, institutionalization, positive self-growth and self-care maintenance.
I have been working in the field for 10 years, I love working with people that are ready to challenge themselves to build towards their best self. I do not focus on problems as much as I prefer to focus on challenging the negative framework you have been using and reinforce a more productive framework. You already have the potential to do great things, I believe as we work together, you will be able to use that potential to do amazing things for yourself!

If you are a person looking for a kind, open-minded, sex positive, trauma trained therapist please reach out for an appointment.
It has been some time now that things have not been feeling "right." Your relationship is not as fulfilling as you want it to be. Things feel off or disconnected. Maybe someone you love has died and it still hurts everyday just as it did the day you lost them. Maybe you have been holding onto something tragic; something you have never told anyone. Sometimes we are not really sure what it is that is troubling us, but we know we cannot keep living life feeling the way we do. We just want to feel better. We want to feel like our old selves again.

Before opening Brighter Tomorrow Wellness Center, I worked collaboratively with a neurodevelopment assessment team to complete Trauma Assessments for youth involved in the Child Welfare System.
I work with individuals, couples, and families. In session, I take a Person Centered approach to develop a treatment plan that best outlines the progress the individual, couple or family wants to make in therapy. By utilizing a Brief Solution Focused Therapy approach, this model can assist in accomplishing therapy goals in a short time frame. Additionally, I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy . My graduate and doctoral coursework has also trained me in multiple other therapeutic models.

" One of the goals of trauma therapy is to allow clients a way to explore complex subject matters without feeling traumatized.
I have several years of experience working with mental and behavioral health. I have helped individuals and couples recover from trauma related to physical, sexual, verbal, and emotional abuse. Trauma can manifest itself in several ways, including relationship and professional issues, allowing the inability to live in peace and harmony. It can also manifest body image, self-sabotage, and a lack of self-confidence. I use Brain Spotting (BSP), Collaborative, and Structural Therapy. Life, financial and other coaching is available from Ramona R Durso, EdD., MBA.

Life is about transition and transformation, from the time we enter the world, and with every transition comes increased exposure to greater life stressors. These stressors may result in sleep disturbance, anxiety, depression, PTSD, impaired relationships, anger or addiction. Through therapy, we will explore the origin of those symptoms, identify positive coping techniques, establish healthy boundaries and implement change, allowing for personal growth and improved self-efficacy. Hope and healing begins today, with just one phone call.

I specialize working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem issues and other significant challenges that affect their wellbeing.
Deciding to seek out therapy is a significant step. I want to make this process as simple and accessible as possible for you. The challenges you face may be effecting your relationships, family life, career, health, or self-image. I understand how isolating and impossible it can feel sometimes. Therapy is a wonderful tool to gain insight and develop personal skills to help address your concerns.

In session, I hold a humanistic and trauma-informed stance, acknowledging the profound role of adverse experiences, including childhood trauma, racism and discrimination, and the impact financial disparities.
People often seek the support of a therapist when they are looking to make a change in their lives. They may have tried and succeeded, only to find themselves at what feels like square one days later. This cycle can be exhausting and may lead to burn out and feelings of shame. In response to this shame, symptoms such as perfectionism, procrastination, or anxiety attacks may arise. I am passionate about defusing shame in my clients’ lives and creating space for healing through acknowledging that all behaviors make sense in the context of our lives and utilizing a values-based approach to effecting change.

Accepting new clients. Life can be so challenging at times. The feeling of hopelessness is overwhelming and can feel suffocating. Not wanting to get out of bed or leave your house can make it feel like you are losing control of your life. Trauma can debilitate both your personal and professional life, but that doesn’t have to be your life story. We can work together to desensitize these experiences with EMDR and Brainspotting, so you are able to get control of your life and gain hope that your past story isn't your forever one! There is hope for a different future.

I often work with clients on such issues as depression, anxiety, panic disorder, past abuse, trauma, eating disorders, relationships, parenting, and stress management, along with improving coping skills.
If you are looking for ways to be effective in managing stress and finding balance in your life, cognitive behavioral therapy is likely to empower you with improving your ability to reach your goals. This involves a practical approach in utilizing your strengths and becoming aware of some self defeating patterns with thoughts and behaviors that keep you from moving forward in your life, and perhaps with relationships and career. I have many years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I offer in person and telehealth appointments.
